Competition Applications

Why don't all competition committees release an application where you can type in the information for the application? It makes it so easy for those who apply and it makes it easier for the committee as well. Plus you save paper.

goood idea.   but each competition has its own rules/regs, how many ppl can be on a roster etc.  it is a solid idea tho.

bballkid, if the app is in a word doc then you can write in it.  if it's a pdf, then click on forms, then add/edit fields.  let adobe detect the forms and you're golden

it would be so much easier that way. Just make one application for the entire year and you apply to all of the ones your interested in.

I don't think you can do it through the preview. And actually...the form detection stuff doesn't always work on all applications. I found this online...its really good for the applications and whatever else kind of text editing you need for PDFs.

Idk if it works on macs though..it said something along the lines of: if you can use microsoft word, you can use it. I don't know if they meant that if ur intelligent enough to use office you can use this software or if they meant it as far as compatibility

i suppose there could be one "common sheet" that includes all the team info/roster/id stuff and the rest of the packet could be the rules and reg/comp info that is unique for that comp

Preview will let you fill out applications which have form fields created during the creation of the pdf but will not recognize actual blank lines and allow you to "fill in" the application.

So organizers should take the extra 5 min. to create a "form field" rather than create a long line with an underscore to save teams and people with preview some trouble :)
