Hi guys! so im posting this because i have no clue about how to use photoshop to create logos or any of that designer thing plus my creativity for names for teams and clubs kinda sucks... lol

so we have a bhangra club at the gym here in my college. Its all girls (black white yellow purple and so on) no desis so far that actually come in every meeting. We get together on thursdays to dance punjabi music just for fun. Im certified Zumba instructor (some sort of latin aerobics) and i teach most latin and african dances here and just recently i convinced my boss to allow me to teach "bhangra".

im not a pro but i aint Sarina Jain either lol...the thing is (back to the point) we are a bunch of girls who are addicted to bhangra/gidda and we do it for fun, no competitions no teams, no nothing.

I wanted to surprise them with a Tshirt, but i have no logo or name and i thought it would be nice, since im trying to keep this  in the program (im tired of jus having hiphop and "latin" dances) and we already gave away zumba tshirts and turbo kick tshirts.

i need a cool name for the "group" and a cool logo. if u have any ideas i would appreciate it.

and maybe some day ill post a video of the group.

* i know imma get a lotta nasty comments about what "real bhangra" is and blah di blah, but some people forget that some of us actually love this, even if we dont wanna be the best at traditional stuff with cool formations. So if u are gainst bhangra becoming mainstream or spreading the love maybe post a different thread to talk about it.

no ideas right now, but i love what you're doing... such a nice surprise...

...and i think sharing our passion for bhangra is a big part of the fun. my friends might not exactly have a clue why i get so excited talking about it, but they see me light up and wanna know what it's really about :)

that's awesome and if i think of a name or design, i'll def let you know.

@ blanca: thanx blanca, its nice to see that some people understand that dancing its not all about who is best or technique... I love these girls and what we do and we share bhangra in a fun but relaxed way.

sure if u ever come up wid anything lemme know :) im really bad with names...they all sound corny, specially cos my punjabi is soooooo limited

@partyjatt: isnt that ur team already? lol

Zumba is awesome

zumba its fun. the funniest part its that when u teach zumba u r supposed to do certain moves and songs and so on and i do whatever i want lol. the real program has like "white version or latin moves" and i just go nuts. The people who come to my class its cos they wanna go to the club and get crazy.  less of a workout but those girls can salsa for real now, and they can do dancehall like crazy :P my boss at first scolded me cos she was like: "piar, u cant be so crude u know, this is the midwest, saying booty and doing those moves can be overwhelming for some participants" i loled, but people kept attending so... i kept it that way. This is where i recently started bhangra i started with a song and people where liking it. "i loved that little guitar song" lol i guessed it was a tumbi hahahah

it was awesome cos i say thinks like chaal, jhoomar, dhamaal u know and they know what im saying hahaha but some girls still wanna use their hips while doing bhangra cos they dont change the chip...from sexy reggaeton to macho bhangra. Thats why i decided to have my own "bhangra" class/club.  and so far they luvz itz. specially me :P

the other day i was a lil upset, cos my boss took some songs from my playlist and attempted to teach a "bhangra" song in her own class...i was like... dude...like...seriously?...plz...my real attempt to share the love will soon turn into some sort of "Masala bhangra" lol even she told me to get certified with that lady so we can teach that class format... and im like: nah, im fine. I have my own format...blah blah, its more cultural blah blah, i can use more songs blah blah...lol

This bhangra class its a zumba type-a-ting. u cant stop to explain a move they have to follow u, so no technique at all. maybe by the end of the semester ill post a video or something. i cant tape my classes but sometimes they do during review week and so on.

I really hope they aren't. "No" means NO!
