Best costume combo for a small team?
« on: November 21, 2011, 06:36:01 PM »
Hey guys, just wanted to ask everyone's advice regarding costume colours for a small 6-person set (3 guys and 3 girls). With such a small team, what would work best in terms of colours?
The three options are:
1) 2-colour costume the same for all 6 dancers.
2) everyone has a different coloured costume
3) 3 differently coloured jodis.
Seeing as it's a coed set, i was thinking the 3 coloured jodis would work best for jhoomer. But would only 3 colours with 6 people make the team look even smaller? Aesthetically, i think 6 different colours would look best but am unsure if it would look strange in a coed set as it's usually done in all-male teams.
Any advice would be much appreciated :) :)

White Kurtha base look the best IMO with different color chadra and pagh. Or you could do three solid colors like vcu

Please don't call em costumes :) I would do jodis, seperate colors usually work better for all guy/girl teams

hmmm since a variety of colors usually look good on stage maybe you could go with 3 different jodi colors but go with a 3 colored outfit as in one common color and then 2 colors to match and jodi's have those two colors
kinda like our outfits for this season :) (see Nishani Bhangra facebook page)
or like CMU's old outfits but i dont think those had a common color throughout and were just all different 3 colored outfits (i might be wrong; see CMU facebook page for further details)

big fan of having 3 different jodi colors.  it would make your entire set, especially jhummar, look nice.
clear eyes, full hearts, can't lose.
