At most competitions, it's a rigged award. There's no way the judges know everyone's name at a competition. Even if they're like, "Damn, that chick is good. I think she should win", the logistics of telling a competition organizer who it is (ie: perhaps "green jodi on Team X") and having them find them is not practical or realistic. Some teams may not even be rangla making tracking down the girl much harder. I feel that judges may default to people they know on teams and give them the awards, even if they're not the absolute best.Just my thoughts on the process. It has absolutely nothing to do with who has won the award, the logistics just don't make it a fair award to be given out. In my opinion, the award is the worst thing to happen to bhangra competitions. The overall point of a bhangra competition is to see which teams can dance like a team, why award those who stick out?
