Bhangra Seeds
« on: October 21, 2009, 03:32:39 PM »
JT brought up such a crucial point. That people formerly of Cornell Bhangra went on to start or be a major part of other successful teams: Phulorida, Ashqe Soniye, MAD, LSD. Of course you get some overlaps with these independent teams: GW members were apart of everyone of these teams...

What are other Bhangra Seeds?
Can anyone think of anymore unnoticeable trends?

There is so much crossover in Canada that I'm sure this happens. What are some of the PARENT teams/clubs that have the most ties to smaller but well known teams? I don't really mean what are the junior teams, but more as in the examples above.

Yes I know LSD was once thought of as a junior team of MAD, but officially they are two independent teams.

There are a lot of different scenarios. But to simplify things down a bit, let's create a classification system.

Let A, B, C, D..etc be bhangra dancers and let the notation [] be representative of a team or a grouping of bhangra dancers.

Case A: Diaspora
Definition: [A, B, C] > [A] + (B] + [C] or any such variation.

Case B: Collaboration
Definition: [A] + + [C] > [A, B, C]

Case C: Crossover
Definition: [A, B, C] + [D, E] > [A, B, E] + [C, D]

Complicate? I think I just simplified it.

We might differ in our definition of complication. ;)

BX bhangra 2 dancers 2 SMD, 3 dancers to AEG

Example: Diaspora
BX Bhangra[Faizan, Joey, Navi] >>>>> Anakh-E-Gabroo[Faizan, Joey] and SMD[Navi]

Kinnell, to help simplify things, please provide a specifications document detailing this new color-coding scheme.  Specifications should be ISO 9000 compliant, submitted in 300 dpi PDF with accompanying Pantone chart.  RGB values should have a systematic structure of selection that mitigates against systemic non-random behavior in x86 processors' random() generations involving the system clock.  I trust this will put the naysayers' calls of 'confusion' to rest.
