Dhol Hardcase in the Toronto Area
« on: September 16, 2010, 12:15:58 AM »
Hi,
I just wanted to know a couple of places if there are where you can purchase a Dhol Hardcase in Toronto and the price that one should pay for buying that. What is the reasonable price that you should pay to buy Dhol Hardcase.

Thanks.

(For example I have attached a Dhol Hardcase that I want to buy, however I might buy another one if it is better.)

What's a hardcase? 0.0

You put your dhol in it, hard case as opposed to a soft fabric bag for it

Hardcase is actually a brand. It's also the the description for the case. Great name for a company really. Either way, I got my hardcase through Dhol Factory when I got my dhol, they did a good job, and everything worked out well. Hardcases are also great because they're made of synthetic rubber and is light enough to carry. I have another acrylic case which sucks. That thing can barely take a beating or anything.

They just sold their last HARDCASE to one of the Dhol students at our academy.  You are expecting to pay about $180 if you are buying from Kala Kandar.  Madhvi has some next version of the hardcase I believe and it's just as good from what I've heard - never seen it myself though so I wouldn't recommend it personally.

Either way, if you don't have a hardcase, buy it. Doesn't matter what it costs.  You're better off paying the price (more or less) for a hardcase than opening your trunk upon arriving to a gig with your dhol in 3 different piece in some zip-up bag. ouch.
