i dont think the organization will be a problem, the people running this comp have been a part of major, successful, bhangra competitions in the past and have been on the scene for awhile.. so i dont think thats going to be anything to worry about. judging will come with time and we wont know until the day of how its going to turn out, but for the time being just believe the hypeee :D i think its gonna be a sickkk competition, might even be worthy of coming back to dc just for the weekend all the way from aruba haha

cant wait till next weeks announcement!

From what I understand...the people running this competition are a very experienced and knowledgeable group which should be OBVIOUS from the invites thus far...it also follows that this competition will know exactly what competitors need...without a doubt, the biggest challenge they will inevitably face, just as every comp faces, is filling the venue...because as opposed to bhangra blowout, which is a collegiate competiton (each university generally fills some of the seats)...in this case, the hope is that the venue is filled essentially based on hype, but the danger of having independent teams from various regions is that the venue just will not fill up...either way, best of luck. I will be there just to see history being made..nothing like this has ever taken place.

Um, no question, Organization will be amazing. Lisner is a perfect size for a first year comp. I think Elite 8 will do very well. There will be no drama here. It's DC and its surrious.

+1 No doubts abt the organization.  Will be a sick show.  If an invited/announced team cancels on this i will cry.

kamal pretty much summed it up. the people organizing this know what they are doing and def know how to run a show. no doubt this competition will be managed and organized well. as for filling seats, looks like there are so many people hyped about comin to DC that wknd anyway so i think the venue will be pretty filled.  lisners not as big as the venue for blowout. i wanna say there are a lil less than 1500 seats.

khalsa junction from the west.... make it happennnnn
no

lol, y not swi, a comeback at an elite comp would be sweeeeeeeeeeet.

That'd be like wanting to see Bob Cousy's Celtics against Kobe's Lakers, Lebron's Cavs, and Jordan's Bulls...pretty sure they'd be fairly owned by teams like vcu and sgpd

If you put it that way, yea i can see y swi said no. But i think Bill Russell's Celtics sounds better. lol

props for being able to properly parse and respond to basketball references.

But yea karthik got my point. It's not just about my belief that they don't represent the best anymore....I personally believe the competition should reward teams that are active and paying their dues to the circuit. There are so many teams busting ass and competing with success. Yes, everyone loves KJ and they are a great legacy team that might draw a crowd....but then what's the point for active teams if they STILL have to compete with KJ's ghost?

Especially in the west, there's just too many great teams to risk it on a group that hasn't performed in a while. I'm just sick of hearing KJ's name thrown in the mix every damn time something comes up. They are retired, and doing big things, let it go. If they indicate otherwise then go berserk, otherwise gtfo and stfu.

(no offense to op, you're obviously just kidding around but some people are straight up groupies)
