Next one's gonna have to be Empire. Love em or hate em, they are one of the reigning teams of US west.

doubt it. they're choosing teams that are atleast somewhat traditional. it would be odd if in the whole competiton there was only one modern team, they wouldn't place for sure

I personally think for a competition like this, 3D might have to come out, if its co-ed from the West. HPD has people on LBC, and I don't know if ABC would be the next team for this. 3D just has some graceful dancers that might suit them in this. But again, I have no idea. This Elite 8 has their own criteria they follow, and let's see who is next.

agreed, +1 for 3D

3D would not be ready because if i am not correct they had try outs like 2 weeks ago and couple of there dancers from last year on capital bhangra now but with ajit as a captian u never know. I def see ABC or BK was the next US WEST and from canada west next team has to be PCAC and canada east it has to be NJ or if they do a combo JNW. and US EAST is ?

This is 3 weeks after dda so im sure they are gonna be ready if they decide to do elite 8

i cant wait to hear the next us west team
Hurrrrrrr

Tell me if im way off, or a missing something. I love LBC and think they are an great team with some amazing dancers...but im wondering why they were chosen over teams like DRP or Empire. Im sure there are other teams from the West coast who deserve it over lbc? Again, if im wrong, then please tell me cause im not an expert on bhangra.

my best guess would be because this is being marketed as a bhangra competition, not a dance competition...

Isn't there still one more team to pick for the west coast? So all you ppl talking about 3D, DRP, Empire just hang on tight, we don't know who else is gonna be chosen.

LBC is an excellent choice for this competition.

These guys are among the pioneers of graceful folk-style bhangra on recorded music...  not just in Cali, not just on the west coast, but in all of North America, I would say.  I've enjoyed watching them dance ever since we (VCU) competed against them at VIBC 2006.  And their style will never become obsolete.  In fact, it would be refreshing to watch their pure simplicity and gracefulness in execution, especially after having endured the trends of ever-increasing pace, wild energy, and gimmicks galore.

LBC is an excellent choice for this competition, they have a great group of talented dancers and have the potential to bring a very solid routine..

I think, though, with a competition this competitive...perhaps keep the gimmicks and announcements and such in the middle of the routine out of this set.

no thats legit, i was just wondering, cause in their Bruin routine, they did some gimmicky stuff, like the super man thing where Jasmine (i think thats her name) put on the cape and did a tower. But you're right, their style is really simple and graceful.
