Something has been bugging me a little. Is this gonna be the same as everyother comp, all 8 teams compete and they place 1, 2, 3.... or are they doing this tournament style (which sounds retarded in my part for asking), but its like they're setting up a bracket style comp

US West v US West
US East v US East
CA West v CA West
CA East v CA East

Winner of...
1. US West v CA East
2. US East v CA West

Winner of...
1 vs 2

Yea it sounds lame, but when i see something that looks like a bracket, i see a head to head style and winner moves on kinda thing. I can see a couple laughs comin at me, but im sure someone gets my point of view.

does anyone else feel like elite 8 is just following the hype that we create and tailoring their picks to what the BTF community wants (in addition to ensuring legitimacy of choice, but yeah). For example, if tomorrow everyone was like oh 2nd US West team will def be team X over team Y, even though team Y has placed consistently team X is the up and coming and new shit, definitely one of the west elite...then would elite 8 pick team X over Y since the hype surpasses a set of guidelines they have?
-->It could be a smart move on their part ... a variation on viral marketing.

As cool/unique as it is, there's something that keeps bugging me about their model...

No, I feel they have their own line-up and it is not based on the opinion of members of BTF. How many people said LBC was going to be a WEST rep? I'm pretty sure the vast majority of people were hitting for Empire and ABC/HPD/DRP/APD.

and kinnell, if they don't ask empire its ridiculous, unless someone steps up and finally explains their criteria. if its Elite by their standards or elite according to its DEFINITION. If its by definition, empire should have been invited. Whether they accept is a different story. I probably wouldn't since this competition is clearly aiming for a more-traditional-than-empire-style, to say the least.

I believe Elite is more of a traditional comp..i think.

Also Elite asks a team, and the team can say no. I think Empire might say no, since they've pretty much beat everyone already and their more of a modern team or they might just come

also there is only 1 placing and if a team drops out, they aren't invited for another 2 yrs.

all meals, hotels, and 10% of flights are paid for.

dude...HPD is WAAYYY better than Empire at bhangra...stop getting so mad lol...no disrespect to Empire, you guys are doin ur thing keep it up.
