In this episode, we tackle the topic of women in bhangra, from the days of co-ed collegiate teams, to the rise of independent all-girls teams, with Jasmine Singh, perhaps the most well respected woman in the North American bhangra community.

Agreed, she's one of the few people in the bhangra community with whom I could sit and talk for hours about anything and everything bhangra. She has so much to say and is very insightful with all of her experience!

In addition to what was said above, I would add that she's quite humble as well - and that goes for both her bhangra & personal career.

I wish there was more humor or "fun" brought into this episode.. overall it seemed quite serious as the topic is by itself. I stress the fact again that 45 min is too long for just one episode, particuarly if you are just having a dialogue with one person.

Regardless, keep it up!

Basim as soon as I realized how long it was I was like crap...this happened again! We thought about dividing it into two parts, but couldn't really find a clear point to cut it so the conversation didn't get cut off. The toughest thing we've found is that we'll set the same number of discussion questions for each topic, but certain topics (like this one) have so many aspects to discuss and you really get caught up in talking. Really hoping to work on making these shorter, our next two definitely are.

Also we are planning on doing a super fun one soon, inviting a couple veterans to reminisce about the old days we had a blast doing that with Jasmine before/after we recorded!

adding on to dheerjas response to basim, it really is hard to stop talking about a topic when you have someone so eloquent and knowledgeable about not just a certain topic, but in general. we could have gone on for hours with jasmine and on this topic as a whole, and we really just scratched the surface of it. this is all new to us, and it is hard to break up topics, but for future episodes, we will try to get an idea of where we are at and come to a natural intermission part for future episodes. but still, thank you all for the support and feedback, we really are working hard on trying to improve this with each episode
