Here's a few pointers.
- Email competitions. There's no better way on knowing how to apply to a competition than asking the competition on how to apply. Reading registration packets on registration procedures is also a plus. Different competitions may look for different things in a team, but unless you ask them, there are very few other ways to find out.
- Attend competitions. I'm sure the vast majority of us here attended a bhangra competition before we started performing at them. It's good to know how things are run, when teams go up to perform and understanding the responsibilities of things to do before a competition. If you know anyone on a team, shadow them. You can learn how long it takes guys to get ready vs. girls to get ready. How to easily transport props..etc
- Use the search function here on BTF. It's your amigo. Use the BTF Wiki. It also has a purpose.
