I understand guys. We wanted it to be on saturday! but we just weren't able to get a venue, since the planning started so late! I apologise, the only other date we could get the venue is January 16th! and thats way to soon! I'd be happy to change the date, but we're gonna have to get the registeratation done sooner!
I think it may be better for you to not rush things since you do want this event to be successful, correct...? Setting it a later date might be in your favor as you can promote it more and not rush teams to apply and even maybe get a Saturday which makes it easier for a lot of people including yourself. Plus, I think there's another competition on the 30th of Jan too?
Not hating on this event, just suggesting ideas for you to consider and yeah, if you've already booked artists, then that may be a problem but there really isn't any race or hurry to organize a competition.
Things you might want to look into can be modes/ways to promote this so it is unique as opposed to other competitions... you want to be original and set an image and name for yourself in the bhangra community. A failure to do this might just result in having local teams or a poor turnout. Nevertheless, I wish you the best of luck
