1. KJ and TBT were two teams that definitely shifted the scene and moved bhangra forwardQuote from: Vick on October 20, 2009, 06:55:49 PMAll the other bhangra teams that are out there today are spin offs of these two teams in one way or another... Just think about it... 2. This is false.

But you seem to be saying that every team today branches from the two "parent" teams KJ and TBT. And when I see the spectrum of traditional bhangra teams (from STRAIGHT FOLK live bhangra + traditional bhangra to fast (but traditional) bhangra moves to music), i see elements completely foreign to TBT. TBT did Live, in an unorthodox way, but they did live. Traditional co-ed teams (VCU). Toronto-style teams. etc. There are so many variations here, and it goes leagues beyond what TBT worked with.

There are variations, but the core remains the same... KJ went for entertainment, TBT danced to portray the true style of bhangra... Pretty sure every team out there falls into one of these categories these days... Theres no such thing as an entertaining live bhangra... I dont even want to get into that conversation...

NYU PandemoniumLegitimate Reasons1) Brought bhangra and real hip hop on the same stage2) Opened eyes of non-bhangra people to the concept of bhangra through a healthy medium of fusion dance3) Had some pretty memorable mixes+1.. come on manthis must be a jokeoh man...nobody ever gets my jokes. lol.

abhi, real hip hop? what is that? grills by Nelly? Bring em out by T.I.? Definately a negatory on your statement...if you brought real hip hop on stage, it would be real hip hop, not pop music...Your mixes were decent at best...self-pumps are risky my man, don't do em if you can't back em up...Pretty sure that non-bhangra people as you like to call them, already knew about bhangra from the 10 years of dancing by other teams before yours, your self-righteousness needs to relax.i like your team, but don't malign it by professing to be one of the most influential teams in the history of dance teams.
