Dude seriously, posting every time you upload a video to your youtube channel or blog is getting out of hand. Find other ways to generate traffic.

if you want to share stuff from your blog dude just make one thread about your blog/channel and update it, better than making a brand new thread just for a 2 second thing.  Also, I'm pretty sure most people are aware of the fake sardars in the industry anyway since they've all appeared without a pagh at some point or another, it's not like those pictures look like they've come from somewhere private.

why?  I don't see anything wrong with what he's doing.  Everytime you or I find something cool on the web we would make a new thread about it.  The only difference here is that its part of his blog, but I dont see that as a problem, nor something that should really make it any different from what you and I would normally do

Exactly^ i dont understand why it makes you a difference whether i post a link that i thought was worth sharing from another site or my own blog. Unless you think no one should make a thread daily for people that actually come here to find something interesting.  ???

Most of your posts have either been from your Youtube channel, or your blog. These are spaces where you curate and manage your own content. If people like it enough, they will subscribe to your Youtube channel, or check your blog frequently.
I help run a website that would be of interest to people here. I don't make a post every time we have a new post up, because of the reasons outlined above. Maybe BTF disagrees?

Bit of a gray area no? I don't see us complaining to dheerj and sulman on their podcasts, or jasmine on her blog. I suppose those are directly related to Bhangra so it tips favorably. It's probably irritating because it feels self-serving due to the frequency of posts. Plus his first video clearly had links to make money, so that primed us. But I can't think of a good delineation here between all the different type of posts. Maybe he just needs better content?

I thought about the podcasts/jasmine/5jab's blogs too, but had the same feelings as you did, in that they're directly related to bhangra. Moreover BhangraPulse is pretty much exclusively made for BTF, and Jasmine/5Jab post once in a blue moon. Also all three entities are regular contributors to BTF outside of an account that just posts stuff in off-topic.

Bottom line, if the content is THAT important, why not just post a thread with it all on BTF?

If you're doing something personal - i.e. creating a customized blog where you write paragraphs of content and/or maybe about things outside of just bhangra, then I can understand you updating us with a link to a 3rd party website.

Your blog isn't "personal" at all.. at it is just posting up 3rd party pictures, pasting youtube videos, etc. You could easily just create a thread on BTF called "DesiBhangra's Random Punjabi Content" in the Off Topic section of the forums with the same stuff you post in your blog.

I'd rather increase page views at BTF rather than at to some random website.

Repeated posting of links to blog posts that are JUST A PICTURE and no actual content is borderline spam, IMHO. Post the picture here ON BTF if you actually think it's worth discussing ON BTF. Otherwise it seems like a grab for hits to the page which, as noted, has *one picture* on it.

That I didn't know of,  in which case yeah.. I no longer support creating a new thread to get "hits".  Just create a thread linking us to your blog, and update it as often as you please.  Probably the best idea.
