but I don’t go around actin black callin everyone “n*gg*”, that’s what I have an issue with. Scratch that I don’t have an issue with it, I just find it hilarious.

There is no such thing as "acting black". That may be the most ignorant thing said in this thread.

so you see nothing wrong with punjabi kids going around calling each other "n*gg*"?

No, *****.
I talk a lot of shit.. I mean it all. You may not like it.. Build a bridge and get over it.

I see a huge problem with that. It shows a level of ignorance and bigotry if someone who is not black uses that word. But your assertion that you can "act black" presupposes black people are a monolith. That is a really harmful mentality to have. You may be shocked, but a lot of black people do not use the N word.

My roommates my freshman year were all black.  The one I became best friends with, who is now studying to be an engineer, hated the random use of the word.  I respect that opinion.

lol i'll finish it off with a final statement, everyone in here would be up in arms if someone disrespected a pagg on stage during a performance. more recently everyone universally seemed to take it very seriously when the video of a sardar getting his pagg taken off was posted. dastaar/pagg represents, pride, tradition, and honor, it is a symbol of sikhism; i'm disappointed more people aren't taking offense. but hey if you all wanna give people liberties don't whine when they end up sh*tting on ur lawn.

bro i understand where ur comin from, but using the turban for fashion or art isn't disrespect (unless it's done in a disrespectful way - i don't think a skull and snake are disrespectful).  we wear the turban as a social/political statement that we are free individuals.  art can be a way of expressing freedom and individuality.  the only people i think they r disrespecting is women, which unfortunately seems to be the acceptable social trend.

Seriously guys he's just here to spread the word about his clothing line. Choose to like his clothing line or don't. Sometimes you guys just make yourselves look like complete assholes trying to argue about NOTHING. So what if he has models that are half naked. I'm pretty sure half of ya'll couldn't even talk to a girl that looks like that. All he's trying to do is attract  potential customers. Which there is nothing wrong in that. If you don't like his clothing line, then don't buy it. It's not that hard. Be the bigger man and respect his business and his idea. Really ya'll need to hop off each other's dicks and just appreciate for a minute.

and Hardeep did you really change your BTF picture? I lol'ed you took it so seriously

THAT'S WHAT THIS WHOLE THREAD IS ARGUING ABOUT! The idea of the clothing line and the fact that he portrays his shirt in these ways. I personally don't give a shit, but when you people GO OUT OF YOUR WAY to try to lower this guy's business because you think your right, your acting like TYPICAL BROWN PEOPLE WITH YOUR TYPICAL DRAMA BULLSHIT. Get over yourselves.

+1 to both
there's nothing wrong in what he's doing. he's finding a way to market his ideas and make a profit. wouldn't you do the same in his position?

so im reading this crazyily late, but i saw it and wanted to give my opinion. dunno if 5abi Kings are back sponsering elite 8 this feb too, but i don't like the logo and i don't like the ad. don't like the use of the pagh in the logo, seems abit disrespectful to me to be honest, and if not disrespectful, definitely doesn't feel like a positive portrayal of what is a religious symbol. ad, don't think getting naked has anything to do with punjabi culture. in any other ad, fair enough, but if ur trying to portray punjabi culture, then in my opinion....huge fail.
also thought it was pretty dickish to call out someone for having a trimmed beard. apne manjeh thaleh soti maro doosreh te inzaam laun ton pahila. someone can quite easily have respect and admiration for their religion whilst not following it fully themselves. and everyone is also entitled to an opinion, especially about something which they're passionate about.

coincidentally, just saw this thread after seeing AEG's boston vid, where the bhangra pagh was taken off with respect and handed to someone with being placed on the floor :)
