agreed, but it's an ad for a hair-removal product...idk about you, but the ad definitely did it's job and made me research the item haha.

So they are implying there are hairy legs hidden under saris? With epilators need no longer cover them?  ;D

Lol @ "jaloose" though (smalhi). Love that word. /immaturity

Yeah, and for some reason... less skin is preferred in this case, especially with the designs. Weird, right?! And you would have thunk it the opposite! lol

It's an advertisement, not an attempt at a fashion statement. No one is selling this attire nor is anyone promoting it as aesthetically pleasing just like Peugeot isn't advocating getting an elephant to sit on your car.

Peugeot India Car Ad

No. It's implying that women will feel confident and want to show off their legs after using the product. The ad is not promoting that they should nor is promoting that they should adopt this style.

I really don't think the ad is that misleading - must be that time of the year for BTF. :P

I thought the ad was clever... [Side note: It is funny that in Indian fashion, showing bare shoulders and legs is not typical, yet tummies hanging out (and boy do they hang out!) in Saris and short cholis is alright.] In any case, this ad isn't trying to change Indian fashion or make women feel a sense of liberation by showing leg because they think traditional Indian clothing is oppressive. HOWEVER, it is liberating in the sense that many Indian and even Middle Eastern women are very self conscious about the hair on their body (haha sorry but it's true). An epliator is a DIY permanent hair removal tool. The company is saying their product will work so well in getting rid of your hair and you will feel so confident after using it that you'd cut your own sari up just to show off those smooth, stubble-free legs. It's smart, it grabs your attention, and it's quirky- I giggled.

Don't even get me started about auntia wearing sari's. That is just abhorrent to see all of those rings of blubber. XD

thats jokes^^

If you have Sari's that have bikini tops then honestly speaking what makes this so bad? the only reason these look weird are cuz the tops are still your traditional sari tops (aka being not so revealing).
Example --> http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-cPsaX5r1sX8/TrP3W4bXDII/AAAAAAAAMbM/W1Yt3D_T0sw/s400/4.jpg

Though Morphy Richards is trying to promote their own product and trying to make a point like Avneet said above I wouldn't be surprised if sari's like this come around in the next year or two but probably with a bikini top sort of thing. And honestly I don't think it'd look half bad like tht  ;)
