Can't say that I'm surprised. India's corruption has been a huge reason for the overall lack of growth. Until things change in the parliament, nothing is gonna change, period.

As Envy stated, I'm not surprised either.

The people that suffer the most are the ordinary citizens that could use domestic jobs to help improve the country's infrastructure.

Many investors are taking advantage of the country's cheaper labor workforce & not having to pay top dollar for a large group of intellectuals. Consequently, it's not surprising that a lot of Indians who pursue higher end degrees end up working oversears (or have the desire to). If you look just within the U.S., more than 40 percent of Fortune 500 companies were originally founded by immigrants (or children of immigrants).

India is still far behind it's neighbor China in terms of running a government in a more effecient manner. On the other hand, Pakistan is even more corrupt than India and its economy suffers greatly because of this.

I am not surprised.  Although its sad because wealth investment in any sector of the country could lead to parallel wealth gains within the urban and poorer regions of the country and increase the quality of living, the political system is unfit at its best and terrible at its worst.

Honestly speaking I can copy and paste stereotypical family drama into the political system in India and the country might be better off.  There was an exploratory piece by John Stassel about 5-6 years back comparing the rate at which you could open a new business or get things related to a business between the U.S., India, and China. Needless to say we finished last.

In response to the comparison with China, I don't think we've made it a goal as yet to reinvest and bring opportunity into the country.  A lot of the red tape that could be apart of the business process(especially in Hong Kong) is eliminated as the government has prioritized internal growth at NO EXPENSE.  Until the Indian government can embrace free market principle without repressive limitations...well..sh*t.

couldn't have said it better my self.. why invest in a place where you can buy off the police and parliament. india is an up and coming country but it will go no where if changes aren't made.
