With the emergence of FAUJ, Knightz and BCC...this is the year of the guy's team...

Can you really say that? Cause theres a fair share of the female sex this season, Pfa came out of left field and kicked ass, tag won second at bulldog (not really emerging) and plus guy/girl teams are really going in this season too with the aeg-smd at bab then empire at Boston and Unc at burgh cal Bhangra at nachda Punjab. If anything I would say it's the year of the collegiate teams  starting to see more and more collegiate teams in the Bhangra scene .

Let's see how many collegiate/co-ed teams are picked and place high at elite 8/idols...

I don't even know how to respond to that cause you just basically narrowed the whole Bhangra scene to two comps. I know they might be two best ones or whatever but thats the worst stastical statement one could make

I think guys teams have been pretty strong for a few years now. Even taking into consideration FAUJ's success, Knightz' performances, and BCC, they don't greatly outperform existing guys teams (SGPD, NJ). So I don't see how this can suddenly be the year of the guys teams. Compare that to when VCU hit the scene-- they were a marked improvement over other collegiate teams.

Anyone know the names of the first two songs? First one sounds like ravinder grewal (at 0:55) and the second one is at 1:58. Thanks.

Those are the two biggest comps of the year, what else would I talk about?  If co-ed collegiate can't win/place high in those, then the other ones are irrelevant as far as I am concerned...that's like saying "oh, co-ed teams do madddddd good in the regular season, but not in the finals, so let's talk about the regular season."  It's the year of the guy's team because indie-guys' teams are dominating more now than ever before, despite a slight uptick in co-ed/collegiate...

Yea... Bhangra is in no way shape or form like playoffs. It's clear that elite doesn't choose based on who won or lost comps. So that's completed invalid. And since the "finals" are based on opinion of the coordinators we can't really assume anything about them won't you say?

We can assume a lot about them actually.  Just because it's the opinions of the coordinators does not mean that the teams picked aren't the best out there...80-90% of the selections of both comps. reflect the correct selection of the most elite teams as per region for elite and overall for idols.  To say that SGPD and NJ are not the right selections and instead make the case for some toronto co-ed team would be silly, won't you say?  And bhangra isn't like the playoffs (if you say so), but as far I am concerned Elite 8 and Idols are the finals...there are no comps better than this, and they only select the best of the best.  My point was that it's the year of the all guys teams because teams like knightz, Fauj and BCC have further extended the dominance that all guys teams have enjoyed, as opposed to contracted it.  Therefore, as far as I am concerned, it's still the year of the all-guys teams...until a co-ed/collegiate team dominates, I won't change my opinion...

This is really sad that we are comparing the bhangra circuit to with terms such as "Season", "Playoffs", and "Finals"......

This is definitely not what bhangra is supposed to be about...

Would I say to choose a coed team over sgpd or Nj? Hell no! Would I say choose empire over bk? Yea maybe. The point that you made about the year of the all guys team is whats bothering me. There are strong male teams but I've only seen one of them really dominating this season, bcc. as far as bk and fauj go bks been bk forever they haven't really changed in my opinion they were hot and they still are and fauj is deffinetly coming up but dominating wise wouldn't count it. The all guy Bhangra teams are deffinetly dominating the circuit overall but that's because there's a high ratio of all guys to coed collegiate teams out there.

Armaan, bhangra is not "supposed to be about" a lot of things...but competition isnt wrong...look at the good live teams in india, they are just as competitive...i didnt make it this way! And mynameis, our convo is going nowhere, im out.
