Heeray Punjab De at AVAP 2009
« on: September 16, 2009, 02:00:48 AM »
Here's the HPD video i took from AVAP. First off, the video was recorded in 2 parts which would explain the little gap in the middle after i joined the 2 videos, and the colors were a little different this time with my camera. My camera was beginning it's slow decent into failure around this time.

Enjoy!

that would be 1080 "I" (no such thing as 1080p consumer grade cameras yet) ... with special lenses and filters help control excessive light... but then again, what would i kno?

it's true the lighting wasn't ideal for cameras...but mine also had an issue at the time with a ghosting effect. If you take a picture of someone, you'd see another person there...magically. thing broke a month or so after this :)

sounds like the ccd/cmos sensor in the camera was going bye bye... not uncommon, but not common either... was it an old, or moderately/heavily used unit?

it was 2 years old, but heavily used. the external casing was also coming off too. so, it had it's damage. whatever works. there seems to be more comments about my camera than on the video :)

1080 HD camcorders have been available for a few years, they are still pretty expensive ($700-$1200).  The latest Canon is the HV40 http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&tabact=ModelFeaturesTabAct&fcategoryid=177&modelid=17996#ModelDetailAct

i agree with you, 1080 HD camcorders have been available for years now, but not 1080 "true progresive" frames @ 60p; which will maximize the picture quality on a compatible tv set... Furthurmore, most 1080 cameras record at a true frame rate of 24p, adding "markers" to trick the playback device that it's a true 60i/p frame... That's what my comment was referring to... Sure HD camcorders have been out for a long time and have a great picture, but it still gets better... I guess you also know that even though some of these camcorders capture @ 1920x1080 - capabilities of the firewire interface limit capture to 1440x1080, eh?

His name is Pali. He is literally a bhangra master. he has taught many bhangra greats. he has done bhangra in many different countries, and won many awards. When you think about someone who is deeply into his culture and loves bhangra from the dil, you think of pali.
