i LIKED the jhummar segment, but it didn't change up the pace of the routine overall to me... still was very strong very energetic.  the whole set was hype and the jhummar seg barely slowed it down to me.  maybe if you could really, really bring down the rollercoaster for a minute... then when you bring it back up it'd crazyyy.. you know?

really? the jhummer and kato part was my fav.

especially the extra bounce in shoulders.

personally, i think maybe sgpd didnt try as hard as usual cause it was a local comp with minimal competition. kinda guranteed first....sorta.....this time they tied with shan e punjab.

probably brought it harder for idols but i guess we'll never know....

The creativity was great, coming up in a straight line before katos, the katos formations, the phumnian and the jugni were my favourite of the whole routine. SGPD has set sucha high bar for themselves, after seeing them soo clean at Burgh and Masti now wat may seem clean for other teams seems messy when it comes to them. Still watch the Masti routine once a day  :P

Spot on! That's exactly what I was trying to say, but I couldn't seem to word it the way you did. I feel that for this particularly dance, creativity was definitely through the roof. Vijay, I think that's definitely it...the flow and transition from formation to formation was constant, much like Nachdi's at VIBC. In fact, that's the only thing that made it NJ to me.

i agree with sulmoney on this one. i thought the jhummar was was beautifully executed and was a great change of pace to the otherwise high paced high energy dance. plus the song used, goriye is sick. the fact that everyone has differing feelings about their jhummar kind of brings up another point. as far as judging goes, one judge may like what they did, another may not. thats the exact reason why there is always such discrepancy in placings at almost every competition. personal opinion will not always match up with judges. but then again, who's to say what the judges liked is better and should be given more points? its a moot point, and a debate that is difficult to solve.

back to the dance. after watching the upper level view a few more times i agree w/ some ppl in that this is definitely the most creative set sgpd has pulled out to date, possibly not the best executed, but formation and idea wise it was really up there. it wasn't up to par however overall compared to masti or avap mainly because i felt like all the dancers weren't uniform, ie the blue jodi guy that was going nuts at certain parts. i dont really think there are many similarities to nachdi, other than the fact that u were always moving, not the actual formations or choreo. at times though, i feel like your formations are too much and kind of odd - at 5:50 in the upper level view when the groups of 3 are moving but rest are standing, also at 3:00 same view shuffling with the groups of 3. maybe thats just me but i wasn't feeling it. i think sgpds strong points are rapid formation changes hitting them hard, then moving again.

yea so that was me nitpicking like crazy, but overall it was a very solid performance, with room for improvement. congrats on the win.

I get what ur saying vijay. But if u look at most routines, you'll see that most guys are either with their jori, or on the opposite side of the stage from their jori. What happens at 5:50 is the transition of formations changing the jori's from being far apart to being beside eachother. I understand it may be odd but there's always a reason as to why things may get confusing sometimes ahahah. its a little more complex having 12 guys. ** no excuse for 3:00, we thought it was cool aha**

P.S. I know this is old but i needed to read the opinions again ahah. Thanks
