I'm only replying to this post because it's what came up when I searched "Dhol Player Orlando", and I am dhol player in Florida who does gigs in Orlando, Tampa, South FL, etc. I am trying to maximize my visibility online.
Dholi Mitul G.
Orlando, Tampa, SouthFL...
Oiling the dhol? Why is this done? On what part of the dhol is this done?
Dagga side in the sun? I understand this is to produce deeper bass, but is this to be done while the dagga side is tightened or loose?
Thanks.
I recently bought a new dhol, but the sound seems a bit off.
1. The dagga side sounds flat. I still get a decent bass sound when hitting the dagga side, but it doesn't have that depth. I've tightened the loops to their fullest, yet it doesn't get any better. Maybe it needs to be worked...
