Can I Get a Sony Acid Genius In Here?

I know this question has been asked a ton of times before but how do you get your mix's volume to increase while keeping it at a peak of 0.0dB
Recently I've tried adding 'Graphic Dynamics' and 'Track Compressor' and then having them both set to 'Soft Limiter' but my song still ends up being quiet and it starts to clip
I've tried googling limiters and compressors in Acid, but I haven't gotten anything out of it...

Is there a certain way to use the limiters and compressors in Acid so the mix sounds loud and doesn't peak?

(I know if I EQ everything that this shouldn't be a problem, but I'm a beginner at this stuff so I'm not gonna go there...)

Download Sony Sound Forge that will give u the Express Fx Sound Plug-Ins which include a plugin called Express Fx Equalization try messing around with that ? maybe it will keep the music loud and not peak :D

I receive this question in PMs at least 3 times a week haha so clearly need to put out a tutorial or something

my advice is to search 'brickwall limiters' and use that. Reduce your master output by some decibel amount so that it rarely redlines, then crank up the limiter by 1-2 decibels more than that and usually you'll end u pwith a decently loud mix that doesn't clip

Thanks for the posts...I think I've found a way to do it (although it may take a bit more time).

I make the mix in Acid while having all the sound levels matching eachother. Then put it into FL studios and use a Multi-band Compressor and Limiter.
I put it back in Acid and 9/10 times it's way louder and it peaks at 0.0 (not red).

Thanks again though

you can also try using the classic master limiter. you just apply it to the master track and it boosts the volume without the master peaking. i know u already found a way but its much easier and faster.

when you hit the the button on the left side of the track that allows you to add effects, the default that comes up is a screen with 4 numbers on a string. You can mess with these numbers to adjusts the frequencies that are the loudest and quietest. This way you don't have two tracks with a lot of bass overlapping causing a huge distortion.

This is a really short explanation, so if you wanna know more detail PM me and ill be more than happy to help.

Also, this is just how I have figured out how to fix the volumes on my mixes without having clipping. I haven't had any training or anything, so to all you pro DJ's on BTF...if this is a completely wrong way of EQing my mixes, please let me know before i tell anyone else the wrong thing haha
