HP Pavilion DV6000 model 6700 to be exact.

Installed windows 7 and now the audio is not working... :(
looked and browsed couldn't find much.
I tried installing all the sound drivers but they all fail.

device manager and see if your audio thing has a yellow '!' on it if not you might be missing drivers or something?

sounds like hardware issue, i'm guessing its built in motherboard sound, if your comp isnt showing it in the device manager then it's screwed up and u would either have to get a new motherboard or get a plug in sound card. if your comp has a plug in pci sound card then it might be loose or installed incorrectly or it could be messed up too.

edit: just read what was written up top and realized it might just be disabled due to the fact that you installed a diff OS. you got compatibility/driver issues with the motherboard and it prob shut off sound processing functionality. either find win 7 drivers or hope hp makes some for ur comp, or get a pci sound card that has win 7 drivers.

Oh btw, is your computer 64 or 32 bit cuz they got a different set of drivers for both. And vista drivers should work. :|

This could be a number of issues.. but you can try this..

Using Windows 7, click on Start, type msconfig in the "Search programs and files" box, click on the Services tab, then click on the Service heading (to sort all the services).. then find "Windows Audio".. make sure it's enabled & running... if not, enable it & restart your PC.

Hope that helps,

~ Basim :)

Aight so your drivers were right...... SIGH. yeah I'd just invest in the soundcard. Probably give you better sound quality to boot.
