Okay, we have a baller saap thread going, so I need some help with daangs/kundeys!

How much do you guys pay for authentic wooden daangs? Panjabemall.com is quoting me $14 per daang and $6 shipping per daang. Essentially, they come out to $20 per daang. There's no way I'm going back to wooden Home Depot kundeys after using a real one. How much do you guys pay? What styles are good? Anything is obviously helpful!

thats how much we paid for ours we got ours from dholetc.com-but $6 for shipping...the cost of itself was $20 ....shouldn't shipping costs be a total of what u get and not added on per item?

haha I remember going to a punjabi fabric shop 2 years ago and they had the authentic black kokey valli daang with the golden rings. Bought them for $18 each after bargaining since we bought so many. Regular price was $22 though. Don't worry, you're not getting ripped off. Thats just about how much its going to be. No cheaper than that, lol unless you get the ones that are half the size (for like NJ toddlers), they're like $12. Please dont go to home depot and make your own, and get PVC pipes and put like black or red tape on it so it looks like a candy cane. WOW I dont know why teams do that. loll

i have actually never bought any bhangra props from websites or from USA or Canada, India is the way to go...you can get Tali wood khunde for 125 rupees(if the guy don't know your from outside) and they are solid.

also if you buy them from India be careful some shop makers will give you detachable daangs in place of the full khunda and and you can't tell the difference..just check, its happened before....always inspect each of your props before fully buying them.

Another thing to keep in mind is to get light weight khunde instead of the heavier ones so it is easier to spin around and do moves a lot faster....

the really light weight khundey I find harder to balance because there so light...just make sure the khundey aren't that light...medium size weight are good..

Start up a Kantos thread =)

BTW, I just got a DholETC.COM Kunde. It cost me $20 for the kundey and $6 for shipping. It arrived in 2 days (ships from NJ) and the quality was pretty good. Recommend it, but I'm still looking for something cheaper. The fact that it arrived in 2 days as opposed for the 3-4 weeks that it took from India is a great thing. Hope that helped.
