Bhagat Singh was not an athiest.... he believed in the supreme being... he just didnt believe in different religions n stuff.... sort of wt Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji said aswell... all religions jus lead to one supreme being... Ek Onkar.. religions r jus different pathways.

den i believe d article i once read wz prolly misinterpreted.... also i read once there is a book out.... which discusses the possibility of how bhagat singh, rajguru, sukhdev were hung in such a manner that they didnt die... b/c saunders family wanted revenge...

Bhagat Singh was a pretty vocal atheist; I'm not sure how people still proclaim he was a theist or even a Sikh in his final years when he wrote the pamphlet "Why I am an Atheist"

Also, I know emotions run very high when it comes to Bhagat Singh and Gandhi, but please be respectful. I see a lot of curses up there, a lot of hate, and I've actually wanted to lock/mod this thread for a day now. We'll see if I pull the trigger.

No problem. There are people who don't want to accept the fact that Bhagat Singh was an atheist because his image has been used since his death by so many different organizations, religous and political. So they try to make up fanciful stories about how he came back to Sikhi and believed in God and what not.

Yea that theory came out a few years ago that it was a soft hanging so that Saunder's family could kill them with guns. It has been dismissed by pretty much all scholars and historians.

And Saleem I don't envy you man, having to lock threads and stuff. You are right, I don't see anything wrong with criticizing Gandhi or Bhagat Singh but you gotta do it with a little more tact then just cursing. I know you guys have intelligent thoughts to contribute, don't get too emotional and let it hold you back from putting rational thoughts.
