Hello teams,

If you have recently performed at a competition that Gabroo Tv was at, please click on the link below to fill out your video registration form:

After you have submitted this form, you may click on the link below to see not only the posting schedule, but the progress of your video editing process.

There are many various steps in the editing process, as outlined below.


- Waiting for team to fill out form - This means your team has not filled out the registration form yet. Any team which does not fill out their form within 2 weeks of the competition, will have their video posted automatically, at whatever rate I complete the editing.


- Editing - Delayed until xx/xx/xx - This means that you have filled your registration form, but you have requested to delay the public posting until the date specified. You will receive a private link to review your video, but videos cleared to go public will receive priority in the editing process.


- Editing - Online soon - This means you have filled out your registration form, and that the editing is taking place. Sometimes you may see an estimated online posting date as well.


- Edited - Online soon - Your video has been editing, and is either being rendered, or uploaded.


Due to the amount of shows that I attend in a short period of time, it is absolutely crucial that you fill out your form right away. This will ensure that the editing is not delayed, thus creating a large backlog of videos, as has happened in the past. Additionally, making a post on BTF, or sending me a text/FB message will NOT suffice. As stated above, if you have not submitted your form within 2 weeks of the competition, the video will be posted automatically, REGARDLESS of if you've stated not to post it elsewhere. The goal of this process is to have all information and correspondence in one place for accuracy.

i'm so glad you decided to post this sort of thing. avoids you having to be harassed by impatient people and is generally a great blessing for all of us.


one question. what do the abbreviations in the columns mean? some of them are self-explanatory, like Audio DL, but some are not.

wish teams weren't waiting until June to have their vids posted...I could understand if they are waiting until their next comp is over, but to wait all the way until June (4 months) is a long time.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and assume that no team is going to be truly be waiting anywhere close to 4 months to see their Gabroo TV video and that the dates listed are simply for public release, aka the rest of us. In the past, Harjot has sent out a private link to videos to the teams a week or two max after the performance and honored requests by teams to release videos at the end of their competitive seasons or after their last competition that season. The public may be kept waiting, but Bruin at the end of May is still a big deal to many teams and the rest of the circuit.

But hey, I'm still out on a limb here. I could be wrong and it may be taking Harjot 2 weeks to edit and process each video and we will be seeing him releasing videos from this semester well into 2018 for the 8 additional competitions he has agreed to so far from this semester.

Right now, I'll sometimes receive messages from multiple members of a team, all providing alternating information. Some information is received via email, some via text, some via facebook, it's a mess. [/font]

All teams receive the form before the competition and all future correspondence will take place with the contact who filled the form out (usually the captain).[/font]

[font=verdana, arial, helvetica, sans-serif]These are internal terms I use. YTD and YTA means I've confirmed the YouTube description and YouTube annotations are set up properly. FBP and PL is to confirm that the video has been posted to the Gabroo Tv Facebook page, and successfully added to the YouTube playlist for the show. Audio DL is something new I'm working on, you'll be able to download mixes via links in the video description. Dancer info and soundtrack info means I've received the names of all the dancers, and the names of all the songs to include in the YouTube description.[/font]

Given the number of videos I have at this time (600+) and the fact that I have a booked schedule in 2014, this was much needed.[/font]

Love this GTV video release schedule. This will hopefully prevent a plethora of questions such as "when is XXXXXX's team video being released?" Way to stay organized Harjot!

Bhangra Fever 5 videos are nearly complete, and links are being sent to teams. If any teams may have used a gMail address for your registration, please check your spam/junkmail folders if the message does not appear in your inbox. Be sure to mark the message as "not spam" as all future messages will come from this same account.

You may check the GTV Video Schedule to see if your teams video has been sent.

Harjot,

This is awesome. I'm so glad you implemented this. Pretty much exactly what I was imagining when we discussed this earlier.

It seems like a ton of work and effort for you, and for that I am very thankful - as I'm sure everyone else is. You can definitely minimize your future effort by asking more of individual teams. I'm sure many will be willing to participate since this helps them directly by giving them more exposure etc. But once again, we've already discussed all of this.

The schedule has been updated. Please note, videos from Worlds Best Bhangra Crew 2015 have a maximum delay of 15 days. All videos will be online by April 13 2015.
