How to isolate vocals or vice versa in Punjabi Songs

Depends on the way the vocals are engineered. For choruses segments it might be hard for most modern tracks because they basically just harmonize the vocals, and pan vocals to the sides and leave center for instruments.

If you have Wave installed, used the Center plugin to remove the sides, which will leave you the center of the track. From there just remove low end, and slowly remove the hi end.

If not then use a EQ that has S/M option to remove the sides, and keep mid.

If you're aiming for a studio quality acapella then good luck. Say you got the instrumental to the song and managed to reverse polarity you'd need to match the instrumental PRECISELY in order for them to cancel each other out and leave you with vocals. This method is usually how DIY acapellas are made but there's only a few people who do it right and even then it's not studio grade quality. You've got a better chance of just killing off instruments with EQ and preserving vocals if you're trying to make a mix using the vocals

A good way to practice is get Panjabi MC - Indian Timing album. He released an instrumental version of the album as well. Match the instrumental to the actual song and reverse polarity on one of them (preferably the instrumental) with whatever program you're using. This is simply switching the audio waves upside down. Then match both tracks peaks perfectly, a milliinch off makes all the difference in the end product. If you execute it right you should be left with only vocals
