Is the circuit reverting back to the 2010-2012 collegiate era?

You can break down the styles of sets and dancing seen in the US into three categories:

Category 1: Folk Josh Simple Bhangra (innovate through their dancing ability)
-Innovative through their dancing and ability to implement folk elements into a set.
-Sets are pretty damn good still.
Teams: BDS, VSB, Soormey, MBT (2017).

Category 2: Stuck in 2014
- These teams are usually clean af but seem like they are stuck in 2014. Sets typically don't push any boundaries, nor does the dancing.
-Sets are usually boring for more recent dancers.
-THIS DOESNT MEAN THE TEAM SUCKS (people getting offended and shiz)
Teams: AEG, Cal, NSG, most Cali teams are like this(minus empire), most Co-ed teams.

Category 3: Push the boundary (sometimes too far).
- These are the teams that people either love to love or love to hate. They are the innovators in set design and choreo. Often include fusion aspects into their choreo.
- Often are not clean, but when they are, damn it's fun to watch (aka Fauj at Big ten, FCB Clutch 2017).
Teams: FCB, KPGD, UNC, Buckeye, DRP, Fauj.

So to answer your question Abhay...depends on the comp. Burgh, as we saw favors, category 2. BIT6 favors category 1. Blowout is a toss-up. Boston (in a surprise) favors category 1. Bruin category 3. Buckeye mela category 3.

I think the main reversion is the competitiveness of the collegiate circuit. However with OSU's death I'm curious what collegiate teams are gonna fill the void and be on the come up this year

If empire is not stuck in 2014, then what year? Personally I think it's the 18th century, in a whole.

Ya ur right in a sense, and to be specific, most of the people that comprise these cali teams are from Sacramento, and no one likes anyone from Sacramento.
