There is a relatively famous author who has written tons of great books on Sikhs, India, Indo-Pak conflict...I'm reading Train To Pakistan right now which he actually wrote in 1956....about the 1947 divide....sadly, many of the issues he discusses in this book are still relevant especially given light to the most recent attacks in Mumbai.

For those that like to read, I recommend picking some of his books up for the new year...you will not be disappointed.

If you like Kushwant Singh, check out City of Djinns by William Dalrymple.

It profiles the city of Delhi from the early 20th century till modern times, including Partition and the 1987 Sikh Massacres.

I've tried reading Train to Pakistan a few times as a casual read but never ended up finishing it...the beginning of the book is a bit of a drag in my opinion...maybe Ill read it on my way back to school...
