LED televisions

so I've been waiting and waiting for the prices of HD tv's to come down to a less than ridiculous price before purchasing one, only to find out about these new goddamn LED tv's which are claiming to be bigger badder and better than the LCD's of the world, can anybody either recommend genuinely good brands of HD tv's other than the usual big names? and shed some light as to whether it would be worth buying an LED HD tv over an LCD HD one.

well it would help had you told me that before! na i dont want anything huge just for my room, do they even come in smaller sizes yet? I'd probably want nothing bigger than a 26" or I'd just go blind with a huge tv lol

iv heard something about some new tv technology in the making that involves algea, the voltage going through that thin layer of algea emits colors and theyre plannin to use that in tv's, a prototype is out, which is only like a couple of millimeters thick, but apparently the ten inch prototype goes for something like 25 grand

dik i work for comet!! shuda jst asked me! LED tv's r better than lcd n plasma! if uv got the money then ur better off fr goin fr LED...in my eyes..samsung probs the most decent brand 2 go fr! theier tv's r better fr the price u pay i think!! we gt a 40inch LED goin fr 999.99 if u wanted a big size...well its 1099.99 but u can claim 100 quid bk!!

i hate to burst your bubble, led is just the back light... Its still a lcd element, but uses led for backlighting instead of ccfl...

LED backlight is still better than CCFL, and yields brighter output along with longer life.. CCFL needs time to warm up and can burn out prematurely sometimes... LED's are long life and give a more color accurate output... I just wanted to clarify thatsk you were aware that its still a lcd tv deep down inside... Samsung has been the #1 tv producer out there for a while now, get their led and you'be very happy with its weight/size/performance!

Samsung, 240 hz refresh rate, when i used to sell em, it was 120, but they just doubled that shit, it's crazy!!! i'd rather get that shit and you know how realistic it feels!?
