Title says it all. My headphones just broke, so i need some new ones, but I wanna invest in some decent headphones this time. What are some good in ear or over the ear headphones? Im willing to spend about $100 or less on headphones.

I was given Klipsch in ear headphones and they are unbelievably amazing. If there are in my ears properly (if the buds fit properly, they come with different sizes for you to try), I honestly can't hear anything else but the music I'm listening to and the quality of sound it delivers is impeccable and if you like bass as I do, you won't be disappointed.

I highly recommend these.

I use sony mdr xb700 extra bass

arguably the most comfortable headphones I've ever come across. I can wear them for hours without getting ear fatigue and the sound quality is really exceptional and clean with a perfect blend of bass treble and overall loudness, I tried out about 20-30 mainstream headphones before choosing these ones and they're listed at a fair price too

comes with a leather bag.. tangle free cord and of course the headphone to amp converter jack.. only con I'd say is the chord length.. I think its 4-5ft long, my old ones were 10 ft so it comes at a slight disadvantage for live djing but for music playback and remixing these are well rounded and worth every dollar. Wouldn't really recommend walking around in public with these on.. kinda too big for that but if your using them at home, definitely recommend these.

If you are going to be listening for several hours and want good sound quality Bose triports (around ear) are incredible.

But for very good sound quality/nice bass etc - sony mdrs or the cheaper dre beats are the way to go.

thanks for the suggestions everyone! ill look into each of the suggestions given. Im looking for headphones for everyday use and for mixing. Also, I need headphones that will last a while. I heard a lot of good things about the sony mdr, so that may be a choice. Has anyone heard of the sol republic headphones? They recently came out and got some decent reveiws.

I posted a lot of shit in the threads linked above so read over that but in a jist, simply look on head-fi.org for thorough reviews by audiophiles.

Some of my favorite headphones overall:

Audio Technica ATH M50 (monitor)
Audio Technica ATH A700 (slightly colored)
Beyerdynamic DT 700 (slightly colored)
Denon AHD 1100 (and higher end editions)
M-audio Q40 (monitor)
AKG K240 (monitor)
Ultrasone HFI 780 (Bass machine)
Sennheiser HD 280
Shure SRH 440/840

If you're on a budget:

JVC HARX 700/900 (the 900's make you look goofy as shit)
Sennheiser HD 201/202/212
Audio techinca ATH m30/m35/m40fs
Sony MDR V6
Sony MDR-XB500
