I`m not sure if this has been posted, but in the NHL Entry Draft this morning, the Vancouver Canucks picked Prab Rai, a winger from Surrey, in the 5th round, 131st overall. Here`s the link to the article (scroll about 2/3 of the way down)

"A centre from Surrey, B.C., Rai had 20 goals and 45 assists in 72 games last season. Unhappy with his playing time, Rai walked away from the Prince George Cougars during the 2006-07 season and demanded a trade, but that didn't sour the Canucks on him."

i stole this off POL

SICKKKKKKKKKKKK lets hope he can add soem fire power to our offense, or at least some toughness. I remember there was another punjabi guy named ajay bains who was drafted by the blackhawks. I dont think he stayed in the minors though.

i don't think he'll make the team this year, prolly ganna send him down to the moose (canucks farm team), or let him play another year with seattle. he'll prolly get a chance to play the 09-10 season, unless he really matures physically. but anyways, it's good to see a brown dude in the NHL. props to him, and hopefully, he can become a star in the NHL!! 8)

...there are Hindu-Punjabis.

I don't know much on sports, but my cousin told me, he's half Indian half Canadian. His dad is Punjabi and his mom is French Canadian.

dude will never see a lick of ice time in the NHL. He is a fifth rounder and a project at best. The minors are full of 2-6th rounders, very slim chance the guy ever hits the NHL.
