I've been wondering about what I should where to Prom this June and I'm a little curious on what you guys think.

I don't know what'll be the most catching, awesome, and flattering color to go with this one kuri I've been eying. ;) I haven't asked her yet, but I will soon.

LOL Okay, I like BOTH of your suggestions but the latter one isn't really going to help me dance. Ha ha. By the way, I wear a turban too. It's not like a distinct style but I can defiently tell you its a single pugh, not double.

I'm trying to learn how to tie a double pugh like Patiala Shahi, but it's a little difficult after getting used to one style.

Tux... wear something that either compliments her, or matches her. So if she's wearing a pink dress, wouldn't hurt ya to to wear pink either.

That or classic black and white'll go with anything. I went with a black shirt, silver vest and tie, black jacket... but as time went on that kinda "look" turned kinda "mafia/tool-ish." Maybe not the best idea now.

black suit, make sure you get alterations done by the tailor so it fits you properly, and then a tie to match your dates dress. Pagh should match shirt.

Yupp tux fo sho. MAKE SURE if you're going to match your date that you actually wear the same shades of that color.

I showed up with red, she showed up with pink. My chances of getting with her: nada.

Those high school chicks will flip a shit if you make them look bad.

You might as well tell btf how you're gonna ask her as well. We tend to give quality, besti-free...for free... advice.

LOL @ the Badass Vardi. And yeah, I would appreciated some advice as well. I have no idea how I'm gonna ask this chick out.

It's been 6 years since I've known her, since 7th Grade. I don't really have any contact with her in my senior year, but I have a good feeling she likes me. Over the past few years, and the years we've had class together, she's been giving me the whole "look my way, turn the next" deal and the whole "I like you, I don't like you" treatment. She's a complicated girl....

I'm suprised no other girl posted on this thread. Like Joe ask your girl what color she's wearing. If not turquoise and purple always look good on guys! :) Pink gets over done in my opinion for prom. Orange if you want to be different. Black if your going with a all white suit and want to wear a white tie. But black suit if not, tux I mean if your feeling it. I personally am not a fan of tuxes that much. Bow Tie or Tie - depends on your preference.

Ways to ask her out : Write her a poem, ask her to lunch, idk if your school does this but our school you could like pay the chorus to come sing your date a song or valentine.

Girl's aren't really that complicated. Instead of wondering what she's going to say or how she's going to respond. The best thing to do is just tell her how you feel. Girl's are often flattered by hearing what a man has to say to them. Just make sure it's in person so you can see her reaction. Asking by text/email/btf isn't the best solution. Electronic communication is often miscommunicated and can create problems. By being in front of her you'll be able to know how she reacts, and if you don't think it's a cool time to tell her you like her. Then just play it off as you guys are going as friends and to have a good time :)

Sonz there are a lot of guys on this forum who would do well to listen to ur advice hahaha, my past self as a high schooler included !

PS Condom Roses are brilliant!
PPS For the topic, Turquoise is nice but is becoming too popular at proms. Lavender or Purple as well, starting to become a little more common. If orange is an option that's sick man, that's what i voted for :)

Base colors like white/gray/silver/black will look good on many people so keep those as a plan B, Brown is a lil too mature for high school i would think but if you remember Napoleon Dynamite he got a brown suit it was actually pretty fly.

or just buy a buncha lingerie and throw it across her front lawn spelling "will you come to prom with me"

...excellent backup plan.

Yay for lighthearted topics

I have a 17 yr old brother who is Prom Bound so I'll give u some tips- and advice on the girl situation since I give AMAZING relationship advice, yet I refuse to follow most of it :)

BLACK! Black fitted tux with an understated sheen in the fabric, the lapels can have a tad more shine, white shirt, black skinny tie. Fitted "straight" slacks. Done.

You will look sooooo clean. Chicks will want to be with you, guys will want to BE you. Boom! You just hit the main goal of every high school kid.

As for asking her.... ok ok ok... guys especially make the mistake of making something out of nothing. Im not saying she doesnt actually like you but before you take the leap, maybe you should get some confirmation?? Chicks are crazy moody, and she already sounds like a bit of a challenge (probably why u like her in the first place haha)

Before the big prom question, ask her out for an afternoon snack or jamba juice (?? is that where kids go these days??) or something. Get to know her and get a better idea on if she is feeling you. Personally, if a guy I never talk to asked me to prom I'd be so hesitant because I'd be afraid of potential awkward moments and even the chance of going on a date from hell. You have to break the ice and make her comfortable before you ask her to the biggest event of her HS career. If you arent down for that, at least get in good with her friends and let them know you are thinking about asking their freind to the prom. Pay close attention to their reactions. Hopefully they will be honest, but this is HS- habitual liars get their best training whilst in HS so trust no one! If they give you an odd response, at least you took note of their tone and facial expressions (key!). If they seem weird about it, then skaddit! On to the next. But pretty much you are looking for the green light. If its there, ask away! And I wouldn't suggest an over the top sort of way to ask her either. Dont freak her out. Keep it simple, keep it sweet.

Wait!! Is she desi?? First check if she's even allowed to go to prom lol (sorry that thought just popped in my head).

if you dont want to match her then black (or white... ummm.. no, no) or a metallic (silver/gold. no and no) are your only real options (black!). Dont mis match/clash. I guess you can ask for her color and then decide. This is your prom too, so dont feel obligated to match her.

Best of luck, have a great time. BE GOOD! No gandhe kam!!!
