First of All, we would like to thanks Boston committee for a great weekend and throwing an amazing competition. This was hands down one of the most organized competition we have ever been to and they know how to handle teams in terms of not getting kicked out of hotel and also, how to give them a good time without having any problems. We felt like at home throughout the competition as after party and mixer were both at the hotel and venue was walking distance from the hotel. Shout out to Priya Bhambi (our liason) for helping us out with everything the whole weekend from the moment we got there to until when we left the hotel. Also, shout out to Rohit for being helpful throughout the whole process from registering to the day of competition. It was a pleasure being at Boston Bhangra and we would love to come back again.
On the day of competition, everything went smooth. Thanks Furteelay Shokeen for letting us borrow green kainthe and phumman the very last month, we forgot them at the hotel. Appreciated that a lot. As for the boston crowd, this is one of the best crowd we have performed in front of. We absolutely had a blast on the stage and all the teams counting our jumps at the end gave us goose bumps. Coming into boston, we knew we had to win the crowd in order to win at this competition and crowd loved our performance. Standing ovation at the end for a team out of town who no one knew from the audience made our whole trip worthwhile going for.
Congrats to FAUJ for second place, loved the tank at the ending. That was a sick way to end the performance. Also, congrats to Furteelay shokeen for the third place, (never got a chance to see their performance) but i heard you guys ripped it. And, shout out to all the rest of the teams for showing the support. At the end of the day, we all joined bhangra to stay connected to our culture and not about how many trophies we take home.
We had a extra day to go around visit the city as our flight was on monday afternoon, loved the city and had a chance to talk to people from other teams over the weekend. Never knew that people loved us so much on the east coast, as this was our first competition on the east coast and we thought no team would know us but people coming upto us and appreciating our old performances definitely was a suprise and we all loved it. Thanks for all the love Boston and respect to all bhangra teams for preserving their culture. Keep doing what ya do.
