This is one way of tying, I've also done it where you pleat at the waist so you end up with two separated, but pleated sections and then tie it (rather than put both sides together and tight it to the body like in this video). Both are fine and have advantages.

Honestly, it's 100% about matching the body type. Every dancer needs to just try different ways of tying and note what works best for them and adjust. As long as they're comfortable and legs don't show it's all good
