Week 3 Wrap-up

Another strong week of mixes and some great segments from this week. Lots of really close challenges this week. Hoping to hear some of these in your team mixes this year!


27. Kaurageous challenged 24. MinhasA. This ended in a 10-10 tie. After a highly scientific coin flip, the match goes to DJ 2, handing the win to Kaurageous.
5. Sangeen challenged 3. DJ Jassi. DJ 1 squeaked out a 15-14 win, which hands that matchup to Sangeen, just a week removed from me accidentally saying he'd dropped off the ladder. Clearly, reports of his demise were exaggerated
13. KaranDeol challenged 11. DJ Concept. Unlike the previous two matchups, this was a clean 21-0 sweep for DJ 1, meaning that KaranDeol steals the #11 spot.
19. GTam challenged 17. NKrishnan. Great mixes by both competitors, but DJ 2 takes it in a 17-4 landslide. Unfortunate, because DJ1's mix could have been a winner with a little better beat-matching, that Church in the Wild sample could have made for an awesome finale. GTam wins this one.
9. sK challenged 6. DJ Preet. After a quick start, DJ 2 found himself drowning in a tide of DJ 1's votes. Preet solidifies his lock on the #6 spot as he looks to challenge up next week.
4. DJ Ra challenged 1. Swizzee. THE CHALLENGE YOU'VE ALL BEEN WAITING FOR. Vox didn't make it easy, selecting a tough song to mix, and both DJs came out swinging. DJ 2 leapt out to a sizeable lead, but DJ 1 slowly reeled him in, catching and passing him with the third to last vote, and winning 14-12. That means that the winner is DJ Ra, and that we have our second new number 1 in as many weeks. Congratulations to Ra on a hard-fought win. Better luck next time, Swi, both mixes were excellent.

Coin flip = metaphor. There is no real coin buddy.

Excellent recap Jake!

With only ONE vote seperating the battle between Sangeen & DJ Jassi and only TWO votes seperating the battle between DJ Ra & Swizzee, this really shows how much each of your votes count!

Regarding the "coil flip" incident, it will get discussed amongst the mixing mods so don't blow up just yet

We hope to get things more organized shortly so it's a bit easier on everyone involved with the mixing ladder moving forward. Week 4 should be exciting!

Quick update to the ladder: Mr. Deepi dropped out during this round, so the last four places all shuffle up one rank.
