2009 Bhangra Competitions

Besides the competitions that are alraedy posted, are there any other upcoming bhangra competitions or competitions that are new and need people to register?

I think that there should be a permanent thread started in which it focuses just on information about upcoming 2009 Bhangra competitions. This thread should be kept at the top always and be devoted to just upcoming competitions. The organizers and hosts of the competition should post the information regarding the date of the competition, time, links, contact information, deadlines, requirements and etc in this thread. This way any teams or members who want to know about competitions click on just one thread, instead of seperate threads for seperate competitions, and then look at the competitions by date, place and type of competition (traditional or modern, senior competition or junior competition). This way its more effective and effecient instead of cycling or searching for the individual competition posts.

A much better solution than what you suggested (a stickied thread dedicated to upcoming competitions) is what BTF already has: Calendar

You can check it out by clicking the "Calendar" button in the BTF navigation menu (red bar across the top of the site)... or by going to this direct link: http://bhangrateamsforum.com/discuss/index.php?action=calendar

As far as new competitions.. we don't know of any besides the ones in the Calendar. As people hear about them/competition organizors come to BTF & advertise.. the mods/members add these events to the Calendar for quick reference. If you need more details about a specfic competition, one can search for a thread or post a new thread asking questions pertaining to an individual competition.

Guys
As many of you know I came up with the idea and schema to store the teams, competition, and placings data... unfortunately i couldnt find the programming talent needed at the time. I have a couple friends looking at the situation now and developing a plan. will keep you posted in a longer term (i.e. in a month or two)
