Best Coed Team: Toss up between UNC and Buckeye but I was really impressed with UNC's Blowout set so I'll say UNC.
Best All Guys Team: SPD but AEG had a great year as well.
Best All Girls Team: SMD, their BAB set was dope
Best US Team: FCB
Best Canadian Team: SPD but props to NJFL, hella talent on that team.
Most Improved Team: Illini
Best Competition to Compete At: Buckeye. Hospitality and crowd were unreal.
Best Set: FCB at Burgh, wish you guys took this to more comps. UoB at The Bhangra Showdown is a close second for me.
Best Gimmick: NSG shaadi.com, one of the most creative team callouts since BK Bruin 2014
Best Team Overall: SPD
Best Mix: MOB Sydney at Bruin
Best Vardiyan: MOB Sydney's, but I also really like Spartan Bhangra's
Best Male Dancer: Canada- Jagmeet Saini from SPD U.S.- Saagar Menon from FCB
Best Female Dancer: Navu Munday from ASD

Waiting for all the Bruin videos + Clutch

Trends that should go: The hiccup/heaving/oh-gawd-I-got-punched-in-the-stomach jhoomer step, bunch of spins leading into a hit, busting through a clump splitting at the front
Where the circuit will go: Fuller execution of steps, larger variety of moves in a set, using the back screen, more girls posting their opinions on BTF :)

What we knew: Canada is great
What we know now: Australia and UK are on par with US teams
What we don't know: Will they compete more, and which regions is better
Where will the circuit go: Wherever the hype team of next year takes it
Trends I want to see: More movement on stage, shorter sets with more impact, teams with clear identities, new ways of doing old things, better execution of steps
Trends that should go: Filler gimmicks, hindi songs, super spins(like above), jadhu singha in saap drops
Trends that shouldn't go: really smart tech gimmicks(nsg shaadi.com)

What I really want to see: Teams get smarter and more agile about how they organize and run their teams - teams that think through everything that they do in conjunction with making a set tend to do better and are more efficient = better performances for viewers (can't be starching paghs at 2am before a comp bro's/broettes), gimmicks with tech(alexa/siri/ok google ___), comp streaming offsetting huge losses for venue bookings(so we can have more comps)

Best Collegiate Team: UNC (honorable mention- buckeye)
Best US All Guys Independent Team: FCB
Best All Girls Independent Team: Have not seen one that stood out IMO
Best team in Canada: SPD
Best Mix: NSG @ Bruin 2017
Best Set: SPD @Big 10 Bhangra (this set was so much fun watching live)
Surprising team: AEG 2.0
Collegiate Team to look out for: Illini and VT Bhangra
Independent US All Guy team to look out for: RVD
Independent US All Girls team to look out for: I am really curious to see @Sherniyan Di Sarkari and @DCBC
What I would love to see more of next year: More live comps in NA Bhangra circuit
Where the Circuit is Headed-
- seeing the trend of countries traveling to other places to compete--- wish US and Canadian teams can do the same
- Bhangra is being exposed more to the world and teams are doing big things performing at NBA venues, WWF venues, government venues, etc
- more academies opening up to teach tomorrow's youth folk bhangra which is great!
- collegiate teams are actually getting better
- non-desi bhangra team being formed and did really well--- much respect @Duniya De Rang ---we would love to see more!
