NACHDA PUNJAB PLACINGS 2011

I heard the venue staff opened a door because of a fire hazard. All i remember was a bunch of people running in while they could before committee found out

Yep all the teams were pretty good. I figured that PANJ would have placed but whatever. But that guy that threw the water bottle at Davis Di Dynasty was a complete ass.

Yeah what was up with that? I didn't really get to see 3D performance, but heard about someone throwing a water bottle at them.

Well 3D was killing it and some dude just came down the steps and threw a water bottle at them in the middle of their performance(I think they were doing Jugni). I think it was drunk uncle or something cause a bunch of them left after their performance pretty much talking shit about them.

Congrats to the placing teams because they did a great job. But not going to lie I thought Panj did a great job and was good enough to be in the top 3. I was shocked they didn't place.

Edit. 3D deserves alot more recognition than i feel they get. I don't know what I would do in a situation like that. Props to them for not letting it faze them. And shame on whatever idiot threw that bottle. I did hear the person who threw it was affiliated to a team that placed, and if that's true then that team should be ashamed to have members or groupies like that. Shit like that unnecessary. Grow up or drink less.

Honestly, I agree about 3D not getting enough credit! They are a fabulous team and not one dancer on their team showed that anything had happened. They did a fabulous job with maintaining themselves as composed dancers! And absolute props and recognition to that!
Unfortunately there was not enough teams for there to be a second place winner in live, but Davis did great!


The water bottle incident was an unfortunate event that should not have happened, but if anything proved that Davis did a great job at handling a performance and showing how to keep bhangra going as true dancers!

As for the water bottle coming from anyone affiliated with Gabroo Punjabis that would not make any sense at all. The bottle clearly came from someone who does not have an appreciation for bhangra and/or live bhangra and we all know that Gabroos Punjabis would not fit in that category. Anyone affiliated with the team came with respect to dancers, which is what every team should do.


Most people affiliated with team were seated on right side and the bottle came from the opposite side of where I was sitting at least. Others were sitting clearly in the front and center.


But this is all beyond the point, instead of trying to figure out who did this it is important for us all to remember to come to appreciate the effort that each team does instead of trying to accuse teams who clearly deserve a win!


Great job to all placing teams! Keep up your love for bhangra because that is what matters most!

Have no idea what even happened or who was responsible for the bottle throwing business.... BUT, how should a team be responsible or be ashamed of a groupie that acts in an inappropriate manner? Member, one thing - team should face the consequences.. but a groupie?

Again, just throwing this out there. I don't even know which teams were involved haha, so disconnected from bhangra its not even funny.

Just wanted to make sure everyone takes a step back before pinning this on a team, Gabroo Punjabis, and Harjot who have done so much to spread bhangra all over the world.

We, on behalf of the entire committee, would like to apologize to 3D for the incident. It was an extremely disrespectful and crude act that was dealt with immediately.

We did find out who threw the water bottle. He was not affiliated with Gabroo Punjabis or any other team. Whether he was drunk or not is unknown, but he, and all persons affiliated with him, were escorted out of the venue.

We would also like to add that ALL teams, including Gabroo Punjabis, were extremely respectful and highly cooperative this whole weekend. There would be no reason to assume that any of them would do such a thing.

Hopefully this clears up any speculative claims and settles the situation.

Congratulations to all placing teams as well as all performers at Nachda Punjab 2011 for a wonderful show.
