Missed some performaces but ill comment a bit on the teams I saw

Shan e Punjab: started the routine with a couple mistakes but killed it through out. Brought the kids out towards the end of the set and had the crowd going buck.. By far the best nakhre of the night . energy pretty much stayed constant for the whole team but were some points were one or two noticeably lagged behind

PCAC: varidiyan were sick especially the black one. Although there normal energy and swagger was there having only 8 instead of the usual 10-12 IMO hurt them formations wise. Were stagnant in some formations for too long. The ending was insane the team finished by sitting on the edge of the stage and holding the pose for a solid 15 seconds. Akash rpped it even with the broken hand. props

Husky Bhangra: missed most of the performance but from what I saw . had good gimmicks but lacked overall creativy in the dance moves. Team had a diverse set of dancers which is always good to see.

Folkal Attraction: energy started out really high but faded. Phug came off early for one of the boys which is obviously discouraging. Hometown team had the crowd going. Set was creative enough to place IMO but wasn’t executed fully. One of the better mixes of the night and motorcycle gimmick was badass

Mera Vasda Punjab: this team has improved a lot from when I first saw them.. starting mela scene was solid. Good song selection and energy but some formations were off noticeably and moves weren’t extended fully..the chimta spin at end was sick.. see potential in this group

Ankilay Gabroo: Best formations and movement of the night. Danced to a hindi tune to start jhummar. Stage was tight causing two guys to hit khunday and have one fall.. Set was creative but two guys fell one was clearly noticable. They had to sacrifice energy while trying to maneuver which also caused their lines to break. blue jodi killed

PCBCA: str8 ripped it up.. intro was sick cleanest team of the night with the most energy . ending V with different props in hand was dope.. was a winning performance

Full Reveiw of the show
This was our 2nd competition for our team. Overall show was okay, the committee members need to be updated with teams and within themselves so they know what is going on.

Friday Night: We arrived to Seattle, WA and the committee members picked us up on time and transported us to the hotel and gave us time to change then took us to the team mixer. Team mixer was good had a good time hanging out with all the teams and dancing. Deejay was really good and overall a fun night. We came in ate and danced for a bit then went back to the hotel to practice.

- Venue- Nice Venue the stage was really small, barely fit a 10 ppl set.

Saturday:

-Tech time was on time, just the committee couldn't provide the teams with breakfast/lunch which they told would be provided at the venue. Overall tech time ran smoothly and it was on time.

-Show was told to be started at 5:30 but usual Indian Standard timing it started at 6:15ish. Show ran quite smoothly and was quite fast actually. We really didn't get a chance to watch all the teams but the ones we did were...

P.C.B.C.A: They had an amazing performance. Loved their set and executed the routine really well. The umbrella gimmic was really clean. They truly deserved first place i think. Congrats on placing 2nd.

NSM^2: Only saw half of their routine, you did a really good job in your routine. We will see you guys at Warrior Bhangra in a month. Once again congrats on placing 3rd.

Ankilay Gabroo: You guys had a really good routine as well, notice couple of your guys who had fallen. But DAMNN your guys Jhummar was sweet. The hindi beat was really a good idea, had the crowd going all crazy.

We didnt get a chance to see other teams

After the show: After party venue was sick, props to the committee for getting the venue. The vibe was okay, was not that packed.

Official Hotel: the hotel was Holiday inn express it was probably the worst mistake the committee made for choosing this hotel. In the hotel there was i guess a zero tolerance policy for noise which was taken to the next level by the hotel staff.Teams were getting kicked out left and right! Our situation, We got kicked out of one room for noise and half our team was stranded in seattle from 3 am to 11am the next day. We were told every hotel was fully booked in all of Seattle downtown. Half of our team had to sleep in the airport until our flight came at 1:30pm This was probably worst experience we ever had in a show.

Judges of the show were 3 cali and 3 canada.

I'm still shocked shan-e didn't place. These guys have so much passion when they dance its ridiculous, I dont think I've been so sad to see a team not place..I honestly think that going first in the line-up hurt them even though I feel they should've placed regardless of the line-up order. performances speak loudr than scorecards,IMO..
But regardless, the judges are ovbiously more qualified, and im not trying to take away from the teams that did place at all..
All the teams did a great job just a few things that stood out-

A.G- god the jhummer was nuts! and I was really feelin the phumniyaan it was creative you guys killed it, -congrats on best dressed

PCBCA- wow that was first place material right there I dont even know what to say.. dancers are so strong and you guys actually know how to dance like a TEAM which is one of the most important things..

MVP- great job i was really impressed, mix was good and u guys have alot of talent on that team good luck in the future

on a side note- this was my first time being apart of a competition and its just kind of sad to see how shit hit the fan right after placings were called.. it turned from a BHANGRA competition/fundraiser, into a fuken political fananza.. idk I guess I was just so excited to see teams place and be humble and thankful (not saying teams werent grateful)but I noticed more dissappointed faces than ppl genuinly being happy for one another...

Sprinkles:

Friday:
-The committee people that picked us up were very helpful and really cool. They got us to the hotel and to the mixer in good time.
-The Mixer like Tarun said was good. The DJ was really good and the space was in my opnion a good size to fit everyone. Props to the committee for all the venues they got for the mixer, show, and after party. The way they chose lineup was kind of awkward though towards the end when some of the people couldn't pop the balloons with the darts. But over all fun and creative.
-Seattle's downtown is beautiful but had some not so beautiful people... I can't count how many times gore were saying something racist. The whole weekend I felt like "terrorist" was stamped on my forehead. Hearing things like, "that's Saddam," and ,"you PEOPLE don't belong in this country." but over all i just thought the gore were pagal folk..

Saturday:
-Transportation became a sturggle by saturday. Teams were too big and rides were too small. I'm not sure if any of the other teams had problems with the liaisons like we did, but we had a hard time getting info from them, and I felt like I was just annoying the committee with questions.
-Tech time- Teams were told we would get some food at tech time since breakfast was not provided at the hotel, but that ended up not happening. The only response we received from committee members was, "Food? Yeah... about that, I guess not.." But that's alright, there were some places to eat a few blocks from the Hotel.
-The show ran smoothly, the comedian had some good jokes, and everything backstage seemed to be running on time. The stage was TINY. Thankfully our 12 person team did a 10 person routine which barely fit us all withing the X's on the stage.
-Towards the end, there was a lot of skepticism towards the judges and the final decision. But like my new best friend from PCBCA, "It happens, you know?"
-Manak-E HAAAAAA you had to sing live sucka. He didn't look like he wanted to AT ALL he had a fml moment look on his face when they asked him to sing live hahahaha.
-Announcing the winners: homie SPEAK UP!! Is what all the teams were saying! We couldnt hear the winners and 3rd place (NSM^2 and PCAC) looked like wtf because neither knew what was going on.

After party:
-Venue was beautiful!!, DJ(s) were eh... ok... kinda lame at some points.
-Convenient and in walking distance... unless you were drunk or in heels..

The Hotel:
SUCKED OUT LOUD... WORST HOLIDAY INN I HAVE EVER STAYED IN IN MY ENTIRE LIFE... wtf. i wanted to kick that stupid old kuthi security guard's ass... Such a rude old woman! They were kicking teams out left and right. They were saying there were "noise complaints" when all the teams were STILL AT THE SHOW...

Performances:
Didnt see many since we were 7th. I heard an AVA girl stopped breathing?

PCBCA: deserved 1st. off the hook performance. especially the hindi song! They had the most crowd support the entire night which is understandable.

8th team: sorry i dont remember the name of the team. The performance was great. I couldnt pay much attention to the good though after I noticed the guy in the green struggling with his chadthar.. I was getting worried that it was gonna be another Norcal moment. but it didnt.

A couple teams had costume problems. Which happens... butttt

THE TEAMS WERE ALL SOO COOOLL!!! Aside from the few ups and major downs with all the miscommunications and kick outs at 4am... All the teams were respectful and chill. It was really nice meeting all of you.

BTW.... the Juniors who performed at the mixer and the show.. omg the mixer- the little boy in the purple!! <3 he was so cute and danced with sooo much nakara. and at the show when they danced with Manak E, balle tere, off the hook, they were adorable.

Thanks to the Rangla committee for allowing us to compete. Being a new team we learned alot more about competitions. And much respect to the girl who ran it all (sorry i forgot your name..) The cause that all the proceeds went to is a great cause and i hope you were able to give as much as you hoped.

The judging was almost entirely based on politics because of the Canadian judges and their views towards some of the teams competing. Shan-e-Punjab not placing at all was a complete shocker, they tore it up! In my opinion, the placings should have been...

1. PCBCA
2. Shan-e-Punjab
3. PCAC/AVA

Shout out to Anakhilay Gabru, you guys are a group of very talented and motivated dancers! It sucked to see unavoidable slips take away from such a creative set. I hope you guys use this as a learning experience and continue to do your thing.

Dude, just because we are a new team and we didn't come fight with you guys don't think you can walk all over us. NSM^2 is one of BC's nicest teams and b/c we don't claim fame the way other teams do, don't think we are stupid and don't know what's going on. Your committe treated us like crap, we didn't have a liason, nobody told us what was going on, we weren't allowed on stage before our intro vid began, whereas other teams were allowed to, and we weren't even given a basket till this morning. Anytime I asked anyone anything, you guys just stared at me like we were from another planet. I have enough experience to know what teams are involved in BC politics and whose routine was good vs. bad. We watched our routine as soon as we came off stage and we know what we deserved...were some of you guys even watching the same show as us cuz those reviews are messed?

PS. just cuz u partied with a team and they have placed previously doesn't mean they are awesome or shud place everytime even if they fall face front.

I am sorry if you took my post the wrong way. My intention was not to take away from your performance at all. Please do not let my personal opinion affect what you guys have earned. At the end of the night you guys know what you deserved and my opinion will not change that. I apologize if I offended you and your team in any way.

Sorry, I guess I didn't mean to single out Jaspaul but the way we were treated this weekend was a whole lot different than any other team was and that pissed me off. I guess I should let our performance speak for itself and I usually don't say anything, I let a lot of stuff go but I was ticked off. Sorry for offending anyone and seeming like I was attacking you. Its just when you start your own team and you work hard its a lot different than just being on a team who has established their name and I think its hard for anyone to understand who hasn't done that. So, when you get overlooked for being new it tends to make you angry. And in general at almost any comp if a team with a name steps in pple think they should automatically place regardless of their ability and that gives pple like us who may (anyone is entitled to their own opinion) have a good amount of capability 0 chances. Anyways, I guess I'm entitled to my own opinion and that's my opinion Manjot.
