Not many in our generation actually know what "proper" bhangra is. Based on research done in this area (e.g. Govind for example), I know that people of our grandparents' generation see bhangra in a VERY different light. And I'm sure our grandparents' grandparents saw bhangra in an even different...
simplest is to buy liquid starch from a grocery store (sta flo!) and as noted, only starch the turla...usually 8-10 inches, depending on the size of turla you want

I have also been around the bhangra scene for a while, and many people have reduced this thread by referencing more recent updates to the bhangra scene (e.g. since 06).
This is how the scene has seemed to work: from the 1990-2002, it was relatively static. For example, MIT bhangra...
Amazing performance...as someone mentioned, cleaner than bulldog too.
The little golden nuggets you subtly insert into your performance are stellar...I didn't notice that many in the audience at Bulldog but at closer look I found a bunch. Great job
