SoCal is known to have a lot of teams, I bet that's why the show is starting so early. Actual performances probably won't start until 6:30ish probably.

R teams really going to come to socal after what happened last year? Not being treated good, teams not getting into the afterparty, etc.

Exhibition teams are welcome to apply online...

It is our focus every year to be more and more hospitable to the teams... To my knowledge everyone did get into the after party last year. There was a mix up from the shuttle bus company which caused some delays.

Looking forward to a better 2010!

haha "some delays".......i remember me and ricky from ABC getting yelled at from cabbies for money when socal organizers told members of our teams to get into cabs that were supposedly prepaid by the socal committee to take us back to the hotel after the competition because of the "mix up" with the shuttles. i had tried calling our liason but they were very much busy getting ready for the afterparty. standing outside after a competition in your chadder waiting for an hour in the cold is NOT cool.

I remember this competition all too well...for not great reasons. I really hope you guys have worked out the kinks from last year because there were some doozies that had Columbia completely regretting making the trip all the way out there...the biggest and perhaps most amusing [now] was still being ON the bus going to the competition venue when we found out the show had already started...and we were 3rd in the lineup. Fyi- tying chaaders and pinning chunis on a moving bus is NOT easy. We consistently checked in with organizers who told us we had plenty of time and to wait for the next bus. And kanvar, if you even got a liasion that weekend I would consider you to be super lucky- we were completely on our own...

Good luck this year, I sincerely hope SoCal makes a comeback...a competition in Cali always has the potential to be ridiculous amounts of fun

I agree...many of the "kinks" last year were frustrating, but we look back at them with amusement...I hope SoCal makes a comeback too and has its kinks fixed (and I'm confident it will) because, like Ruchi said, it has great potential to be an awesome competition...but for now, we're sticking to NorCal :p

Even when PANJ went in 2008 still a frustrating comp to deal with, but hopefully it bounces back!!
