A suggestion

Sat Sri Akal,

I was looking at the BTF calendar and it has some of the competitions listed on it.

However, I think it would be beneficial to have an area where all the major competitions should be listed with a little information about them.

I am new on BTF, so maybe such an area exists (if so, where may I find it?)

Ehhh...I don't think a judge corner is a good idea...I'm not sure how the feedback would work..but I find it unnecessary and could even influence the judge's ability to judge competitions because the judging score sheets are different across each competition, and so is the points distribution..unless of course we get one uniform judge sheet (as is mentioned in the other thread)...theres no basis of comparison of "how well" a judge did unless you are talking about their judging the same competition year in and year out...it's hard to explain, does that make sense? Also, it is really tempting, despite the "kind" nature of BTF, for people to simply be upset after a competition and blast a judge unfairlyy, and a judge critique section gives them exactly what they are looking for.

I don't know too much about the judge corner but a list of competitions and dates would be a great idea. Also having them list the sites for each competitions.

Just month-by-month list with website links. The websites tend to pretty to-the-point bout basic info, contact and dates and what not.

Yeah, definitely agree that the Judge corner is not the way to go. We don't want individual people to be rated poorly and not have the opportunity to judge again because of a BTF rating just because they made an unpopular call. Unpopular calls may not always be bad calls since "popularity" usually depends on the audience present and is open to interpretation.

I believe that the BTF Calendar will become more functional as members add new events to it. Im pretty sure thats currently a function, correct me if I am incorrect.

We are in the preliminary design stage of adding a separate part of the website for seeing Competitions, Teams, Rankings, Placings, etc. No judges corner is planned. Hoping to start developing it in July with Abhi

I don't like the team ranking idea, unless, as bhangraholic said it is strictly based on competitions and and stuff. I like how right now people have team affiliations and stuff, but everyone is really humble and every post is treated equally. I don't want team rankings to make some members more important than others, or give people egos...

I dont know how it would give people egos having the team ranking section?? cuz if they were to have egos they would already have it after winning the actual competition dont you think?? and its not like your rank on the forum gonna change...its just a section for team rankings....

hahahahahaah jeeti and vick.................mariam, what else would rankings be based on OTHER than competition placings? What other foundation could you or would you possibly base your rankings on? Who's the best looking team? LoL are u serious? And please direct me to the forum that you've been on that makes memebers MORE important due to their team's rankings, I would REALLy love to check that forum out. I believe you totally contradicted youself. I have only had encouters with a few cocky teams, and those are the ones who never accomplished anything. Please get your facts straight next time you start talking about egos. Thats why I asked how long you've been on the scene as it does not look like you've been on it for long.

1) Why does it matter how long I have or haven't been around? I never claim or even talk in any way that would make me seem like I know so much or be soo experienced, because I know I'm not. If you look at my posts usually I'm asking questions, looking asking for advice because I do respect those in the game longer than me, or just throwing in two cents.

3) I never said there was an ego problem on this forum, or any other forum. Maybe I should have said "I hope it doesn't turn into a forum for the top 15 teams on the rankings". And you can lose the sarcasm, meistro, it really doesn't help. Does it make you feel better to make others feel stupid?
