It's pretty hard to explain stuff like this over text especially when we don't know how much you know ...
For equalizing, use the track volume slider on the left of the timeline, this allows you to adjust volume. keep in mind track quality, some tracks are better produced and will just sound louder/better than other regardless of volume
for fading one song into another, are you having trouble actually fading the songs (volume) or not sure how to get it on beat....
2 more things:
1. watch these tutorials. very basic but make sure you understand them, they will help.
