Two L.A. Groups Approach Vikings1st December, 2010 - 8:58 amESPN - Two different groups interested in bringing an NFL team to Los Angeles have approached the Vikings about possible relocation, the team's vice president of public affairs Lester Bagley said Tuesday.

"We have been approached by two different groups in Los Angeles -- the Ed Roski group and more recently by former Timberwolves CEO Tim Leiweke and AEG," Bagley said in a chat on the team's website.

But in all seriousness, why the Vikings?? They have a great fan base, and they're one of the most successful teams in NFL history. Why not one of the newer teams with a smaller fan base, like Carolina or Jacksonville?

Gurbir, this is fliterating:

Nikhil: "Hey Gurby, I hear you like maple syrup on bacon..."

Gurbir: "I also like to shower in it."

Nikhil: "Let's shower together. I love the Jets."

Neither owner has any real incentive to move their teams. In public at least they've professed commitments to keeping their teams where they are. More importantly, the Panthers are a good draw for both home and away support. Plus BoA pulls in a lot of dough when hosting other events. The Jags are making money for Weaver too, and he sewed up a new stadium naming rights deal just a few months back.

Makes sense to at least poke around Minnesota with their stadium issues. Leaving business aspects aside, I can imagine Wilf doesn't have the same sort of emotional attachment to his team that Weaver and Richardson have to theirs...not that that really means anything, eh.
