African American Sikh

Yooo Kinell, when I first saw this thread I almost thought it was about Danny too for a sec lol..

But seriously Aaron, how can you link a picture that first insults all Black people with the use of the N word (which, pritpal, you have gotta be kidding me with how ignorant you are about this. spelling it with an "a" is just as offensive as spelling it with an "er". Try going up to a random black person and calling them the N word using your justification and see if you come back alive.)

And second, like Meistro was saying, I'm just surprised that you would laugh at Black people embracing your religion. Sure, you can do whatever the fuck you want, but with all the hate and discrimination against Sikhs, I am just very very very surprised that you of all people being a Sikh would act like all the other people who discriminate against Sikhs.

Uhhhhh... okayy... and the point of this thread is???
uhhhh...what the hell is your problem? its just a video hes not trying to prove a point. calm the fuck down
Meistro said:
Basim, the point of the thread I believe was to point out an African American sikh. I have never come across an african american sikh in my life. Although sikhi is open to anyone and everyone, I have only seen Punjabi and White sikhs. The muslim religion is much more widespread throughout the world than sikhi (as mentioned in the video Sikhi is a minority religion), which is why nobody is pointing out an African American muslim.

Muslim African Americans are not an anomaly....

Jaideep, I just didn't know why the thread was created to begin in, as the original poster didn't write anything.. and just posted some random video. Think about it for a second, if I made a thread called "African American Christian" and simply posted a video of an African American singing gospel music in a Chrush.. what would be the point of it?

On the other hand, if you took the time to read the responses by Meistro and Pooja, they nicely made it evident why a thread/topic was created or "is a big deal."

Hope that clears up any confusion for you. If you want to talk about things in a more professional manner (without the cussing), hit my up via PM sir.

For those of you focusing on the obscenity of the N word, please tell your friends and fellow members that FAG and GAY are offensive words as well =)

BTF IS SUCH GARBAGE NOW.

When it was just like 50 of us, IT WAS AWESOME.

all you people do is talk a bunch of TRASH all the time. if you know something is clearly offensive, ie the title of that photograph, then DON'T POST IT. the end. because you should know by now it's going to create drama here...

STOP THE MADNESS!!!! SAVE BHANGRA!

Pritpal my moderator note applied to you as well. Bringing in "Internet Backup" for your buddy isn't really constructive to any conversation and this is not the first example. In fact you're created threads dedicated solely to backing up your 'boy'.

Yea good point, kind of on the same note I read this a while back

Religious converts are often the most zealous about being pious. I was going to write that they fervently "act as though they are the most pious," but that's not fair, really. It's not an act because there is no intended deception. Rather, their faith is merely new, and often, the ardor with which they embrace it suggests making up for lost time. They sort of have to live like this, though, if they want their newfound faith to stick. I hope that I am not casting aspersions on converts; for me, this is anecdotally true and fairly intuitive. If you haven't grown up with something like a religion--which is so often ritually subscribed to and followed without question due to childhood custom and some organic familiarity--you have to work to make it yours. Observing the sabbath, retelling the mythology, mastering the traditions requires concerted effort, not least of all because adopting the identity that comes with a new faith almost demands an outwardly perceptible comfort with the material. Oh, you're religious now? Really? Were you in jail?'

If we're born into a religion, then like your quote said, following without question is easy due to familiarity. However, changing religions sometimes (I did say sometimes) requires questioning your core beliefs so it takes energy. We're more likely to make the best out of religion if we questioned the last one.

Hmm, that is a good point too. I love BTF.
