Nice vardiyan. The performance seemed relatively polished but I think the biggest problem with collegiate teams in general is a lack of originality. Put in a conscious effort to develop your own style.

Aside from the originality comment pertaining to choreo (which I do agree with) I thought yall did relatively well. I assume this team had started from scratch and I congradulate yall for doing so. My critiques will be directed more towards the dancing aspect of your set. First off a lot of your dancers seemed uncomfortable with doing betkah, remember to keep ur backs straight, feet close together, and knees apart. Second when handling props people need a bit more upper body strenght in order to actually use them properly. Start doing physical condtioning such as pushup pull ups and burpees in order to progress on this matter. Wall squats and doing sprints will help with ur dtamina and lifting your legs. Your synchronization was off as well and thats due to many things such as lack of practice experience and stamina so remeber to focus on that as well as your choreo. Your hand placement and arm wggle was also all over the place. Take time to work on that as well, your own style is just as good as any other teams rmr to have all your memebers on the same page, that comes with practice and paying more attention to detail. Lastly your vardiyan were made beautifulky but presented in a very distasteful manner (this is directed more towards the guys). And I do mean to be critical in that sense because presentation is big when it comes to performance. Starch your paggan better nd practice tieing them over and over. Your chaddre need to be tied lower as well, theyre are tons of resources on this site so use them. And yea thats all I got, but good luck to yall and I hope to see more of this team. Just pm if yall have more questions.

I don't understand the comments about " style ", when does that even matter ??? Every team is gonna at some point dance the same and ideas will be reused. I tied those agh and they were starched better then anyone could starch.. Yes a few of them were messed up while dancing but while walking outside the wind messed them up. The Chadra I do believe we're little high but the dancers were having issues with stepping on them so I raised them up a bit.

But this team is very new and amazing as people alot of them are really passionate!! Thanks for that break down they will work on those things more feed back will b very helpful

Thanks Harman !! Also why didnt you come ??

A teams style is everything, its a display of what their team is about. That comment of teams dancing the same and ideas being reused is a cop out imho. Every team should strive to create something that is a style of their own making. Certain things should overlap but the mindset of how it is done should be unique and original. The chaddre issue should be addressed still though, practice dancing with them on so each guy can become more comfortable with it.

First of congrats on first place. Especially considering that you guys just assembled "Alamo City". I'll break up the critique into segments.

You guys started out pretty strong in your energy with saaps and then it dropped right after and stayed consistent.

At around 50 secs, instead of bending your backs I suggest squatting and lifting your props. Though, if you guys still bend your back have everyone on point (half squatted half bent).

I always love it when a coed team takes full advantage of their jhummer and uses it interact with their jordis like you guys did. Again though synch is off in the batikha and initial jump/chall.

Your guys' energy was pretty consistent throughout the set. It's good that you had control, but energy level came off as a bit too low. Looked like you guys were all holding back.

A definite place for improvement is your formations. Guys could expand your levels and make your movement around the stage that much more intricate. Your posture/form (already stated) could be improved as well. As for the chadres they are a bit high in the front.

Choreo was rather basic, almost predictable for what a Coed team would do. I would suggest as you guys get start finding yourselves, (stylistically) incorporate intricacy, in the form of your style, into your choreo.----> Find what sets you guys apart from the rest and use that to your advantage.

Side note: 3:25 was a pleasant switch up. I felt like the build up to it could have been more dramatic though.

Overall solid set for your first comp. Congrats again

First, I want to say congratulations and you guys did a great job for this being your first competition! I just had a few things that I wanted to comment on that I think will help you guys out for future competitions. Something that really stood out to me when I watched your video is that some of your dancers, especially girls, tend to slack when they are towards the back of the stage. I don't want to point anyone out but it throws off the cleanliness of your set and judges will dock points for that. Also, some judges will take points off for girls slapping their thighs so I suggest you find out if that is going to be a problem for the judges at your next competition or just modify the move so you don't have to worry about it. Hope this helps a little and congratulations, again! Good luck :)

Congratz to all my friends on Alamo City Bhangra on the first place win! This shows that there is more talent growing in Texas for the bhangra circuit. You guys brought your A-game, and were victorious over some well known teams in the nation. Its always great to have you guys around for some friendly competition.

Once again... Good job at bhangra blitz from me and all of Nishani ;) keep at it
S/O to Desh for finally teaching me how to tie phuman and taking em off easily haha

Congratulations on first place! :D

Honestly, the video angle wasn't really that good, so I couldn't see it very critically. But overall, I think the set was good, and you added parts to entertain the audience as well. The part when all of you lie down in a circle would have been a crown pleaser.

I also liked how you combined Putaniya and Sial Koti. It flowed quite well :)

Other than that, I think a few standardizations would help! Like, in a few parts the hand movements are a bit off. Someone is doing it a very different way than the others. These small standardizations could help make the set really clean!

It was a really good performance overall though! Congratulations again! :D

CONGRATS on first!

Critique wise, most of it has been covered.
What I think needs the most work is the lack of energy, and synchronization between the dancers.

As style goes, it was pretty generic. I know this was your first set, but try to find that one thing that will set you apart from the rest.

Wrote this quick so idk about grammar and all. Good performance overall, and the team as a whole looks like it as dancing like a unit but, the unit as a whole has flaws though. Please work on betakaan and make sure dancers are timing them the right way and completing them with backs straight knees pointed down, legs wide, and chests out. When doing a move like single dhamaal, make sure legs are kept up for both beats. Jhoomer and khunda, with your slower segments your dancers need to have patience and complete each move and take their time with them. Khunda for example, if you all are doing punjab legs make sure the 1 and 2 count are executed and even for moves like tharhi jhoomer at the end of your dhamaal make sure the move is completed. Your bedi segment is really weak, to have a less intricacy entails that you may have EXTREMELY STRONG JODI INTERACTION, but you guys didn't if anything I would say make it a little faster, and harder to do, so the level of difficulty is displayed, and it will make your dancers stronger. Some of the dancers seem like they are struggling doing moves like pataka/sheesha, they are not hopping (green guy) make sure for moves that your hopping on. Work on the basics as a team and drill them, this first place may be one deserved in the line-up but there is a lot missing to the set, that I feel like you guys as a team can accomplish, just stay at it and drill drill drill. Make your set harder so your dancers get better, never settle, and you will do well. Just my two cents. Good luck in the future!

Wow nice cherag !! Vie pointed out some of those things to the captains, but there's only so much I can do from Houston lol :/ wish I lived in San Antonio to help out more !! But man like I said before all the dancers are so passionate, I'm very sure they will ready all these critiques and make full use of them :)
