Hey Ampal + all the Alamo City Crew!

I thought I'd shoot out some feedback regarding the set:

-It was overall pretty clean-it got messy in the prop segments and in the beginning when the pace of segments was faster-some small angles and standardization was off in areas
-I liked the line at the end of jhoomer-though I think you guys could have used that as an opportunity to put some different choreo than just the jhoomer step-I think that would have made it more memorable
-Energy and execution seemed to wane towards the end (until the ending song at least)-dancers in the front are getting legs high, but dancers in the back arent as much and the intensity you guys had in the beginning I thought started to fade a bit. I think maybe varying pace throughout your set might help with that-it felt like the beginning was all fast and intense, and then it went to slower segments until pretty much the ending song. I think putting a slower segment in the first half and a faster segment in the second half can help give the set some ups and downs
-One of the moves at around ~2:00 looked kind of like furteelay's "signature" move-it might have been by accident-but seeing it just got me thinking of them as opposed to how unique that specific choreo was
-Overall, I think what bothered me about this set is that it seemed overall like a collegiate co-ed set-you guys have the dancing ability and stage experience to break that identity. In what I have seen in past videos, I feel like as a team you guys are more on the folkier end-and segments like 6:28 are awesome because you guys look like you're loving it and its unique to how a lot of teams execute. A lot of the bust outs/choreo drops are in staggered lines or a variation of it-and I think you guys could take some risks and have shape/formation movement for a more complex drop.
-Ampal-you absolutely crushed this set
Just my thoughts-hope it helps and message me if you want some more in-depth ones or anything like that
-Sonny

"Then I think we put up a great performance at burgh and we didn't even place and according to this thread, apparently we all need to learn the fundamentals of Bhangra first and how to dance first, and I believe we have some of the best girls on our team and our boys aren't that bad either who do actual Bhangra. But it's sooo hard to place at these competitions. Being a coed team, you already know you're at a disadvantage because all boys teams and all girls team are going to look aesthetically pleasing to the naked eye."

Hello Ampal! So I've actually followed your team throughout the years and have left some comments in the past and was very much surprised last year at some of the lower placing you had received! You guys absolutely smashed the MCB set and I think more than anything the girls on your team and their high standard of dancing make it very fun to watch.

However I do disagree and don't think your burgh performance was great. Im just gonna say it how it is because the younger teams are complaining that a lot of it starts with how they have gotten no feedback. So yes, this set in my opinion was not deserving of a placing. I think the comment you made about guys and girls teams being more aesthetically pleasing is also wrong. VCU, EMPIRE, DRP, UVA, CORNELL, JVD, ANKHILE.. etc have made some of the most memorable sets to date and they were al co-ed!

You guys have made and executed some very fun and high energy sets. It happens to all of us and I know iv'e been there, this set was just not upto par and the energy im used to seeing from Alamo was not there. Alamo for me has always surprised with their energy, execution and high caliber of dancing for the girls.

The boys on the other hand in this set were just ass. Before the phumaniya segment they weren't even doing thier bhetaks and they walked around half the set, with the exception of the guy in green and purple, who were consistent throughout the set. The song selection was really weak and please please work on changing up the pace of the set. It was done so well for you guys at Notorious 2014. Feel free to message me if you have any questions, sorry If I kinda went off, just trying to light a fire!

A few critiques I noticed while watching your video:
-you guys all squatted at different times when transitioning, make sure you're still all on beat for that
-nakhra could be better for some people on stage, they weren't really changing expressions or anything and weren't really smiling at all or doing anything at some points
-phul isn't being done correctly. Need's work, isn't in proper form, and while there are a number of ways to do it, flipping your hands and rotating your wrists instead of using your arms/shoulders to fluidly move them in a circular motion is definitely not the proper way to execute the move
-a lot of the guys get tired early on (2 minutes into the set) and it shows up on their face and when they aren't lifting their legs high enough/are barely lifting their legs at all
-make sure during khunde chaal, your hands which aren't holding the khunde are higher up in the air. they are too low, and keeping them that low doesn't make the chaal look as good, no matter how low you get with your legs
-levels on khunde chaal are completely different across the board. try to get everyone to be on the same level for chaal
-posture for some of the dancers needs work, too many people hunching over as they get more tired through the performance
-around 5:30, some of the girls faces are completely blank, maybe even frowning.
-at 6:30 during your luddi segment, you need to exaggerate and put more energy into these moves because a few of your dancers aren't doing them with full extensions or exaggeration
-a lot of the choreo was really creative and i loved the luddi segment, that was sick
