few questions:

what level of quality do you need? competition/performance/cultural show/school show etc. Depending on what the venue is the quality and expectations change.

The actual beats are not that bad, but the equalisation is just awful and it's killing me cause you boosted all your high frequencies too much

you also need to decide what you want to do, for instance 1:48 (where you cut rangla punjab). Did you want to do that, or did you want to fade it? Again, at 2:14 the incoming beats are off beat, you could either take them out and not put them in until the new song comes in or you could beatmap them and have it come in smooth. These are all subjective assessments you have to make in order for us to help you.

So your best bet is to either get someone to do it, or point out specific parts that you need help on. the whole mix is long, and though it's not terrible, it's still a mess. It's definitely pretty good and got some potential, you just need to clean up a few things.

What program are you using to mix?

you definitely have a great start, I think you should work and finish it yourself, there's no way to get better than practice

I made some tutorials a while back http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=17F9753510E98C1B

they're not the best tutorials, but it's a good place to start

good luck nick_jatt! it is always exciting to see what new DJs bring when they first get into mixing. I'm sure you'll make a sick mix like swi said, decide what to do for certain transitions (crossfade, different beat starting or something) and that'll make it more uniform overall.

ayo swi what program did u use to record the video of ur screen, i remember seeing a post about it before but i didnt really pay attention...cuz i saw ur tutorials jus outta curiosity even tho i know acid inside n out, and i figured id make a few videos of how i made my mixes so they can learn/improve/incorporate techniques on their own.

or should i jus not? since a true artist never reveals his secrets...?

...well, magicians. but, you get the point haha.

I couldn't find any good screencapture vid programs for free so i used this one called Jing, it's only records 5 min at a time which is why it's free and it puts it in flv format which isn't the easiest to edit (although vegas/imovie/final cut will do it) So you can potentially just make multiple 5 min clips and string them together to get a longer video

There aren't nearly enough tutorials out there on how to do stuff. I made the videos for friends of my brothers so they're not super organized or useful, more just to show what buttons to click so people can figure it out. You should definitely do a legit vid if you can, there's so much to talk about: bpm, pitch, effects, bus tracks, automation (pan/volume/mute), fx, vst plugins, spectrum analysis for frequency clipping, downmixing, mastering etc etc etc

The more people who learn how to do shit properly, the less crap out there :)

mr, um, nick jatt. the mix has alotta potential esp for a beginner. i usually dont mind critiquing and givin feedback but it seems as tho by the time i get to someones mix to give my opinion...swi over here give you a detail about every second in the mix, and my opinion follows along the his. but the mix def needs to be EQed as well as the transitions need to be worked on. i like the DOA in the beginnin but soon as the dhol drops in you can tell it wasnt beatmapped well, so def try using the beatmapper cuz its thruout the mix you can tell some parts are a little off. but the main thing is transitions. transitions, transitions, transitions. u got good concepts as far as them right now but def try to use the beat mapper and then also if the songs are dramatic changes as far as tempo goes, use a tempo change by pressing "T" wherever you want it to be, and then the box pops up. i like to just hit "ok" so it stays the same tempo, then on the right hand side of the line click anywhere on the screen and THEN change the tempo to anyting you want. but make sure its not too dramatic/noticable of a change. thats pretty much it. overall its definately good for starting out
