I'm a hardcore skier and was a ski instructor for a while. I've been meaning to learn how to board for a few years now.

My winter plans this year initially included 4 days skiing in Italy but my little brother really wanted to check out the Dominican Republic and convinced my parents. Have you checked out Lake Tahoe/Heavenly? I got the brief taste of Colorado skiing a while back and I loved it! The perfect combination of great soft snow and warm weather! I can imagine those are ideal conditions for any snow sport, whether it be skiing or snowboarding!

Where have you hit up?

i'm on the same boat as kinnell ... i'm really good at skiing and go up to Big Bear a good 7-8 times during the season. I've tried snowboarding, but not enough to choose it over skiing yet.

p.s. - i have access to a sweet ass cabin in big bear every winter if anyone of you are in socal and would like to come out some time for a session

Proud season pass owner to Northstar and Sierra at Tahoe. I got a new board this year, Burton Farm with Custom bindings. I love it so far. I rode a Vapor last season. Trying to do more park this year and the Farm is tearing it up so far; apaprently its Burton's Amateur Teams board. Super soft with a beam of stiffness, pops lke crazy. I went out a few days last week and it was amazing. Been snowboarding since I was a lil kid and skiied for a few years also.

I highly recommend this sport, one of my favs of all time!

Oh and if you're a college student (or still have ur studen ID), Boreal has $10 lift tickest on Fridays. its not a great resort but the park is fun and the mountain is good for beginners. I used to hit it up all the time when I went to Davis. Its also the closest Tahoe resort, inly about 1.5 hours from Sac.

I need to pick up a new K2. I got an old Liquid that I just keep waxing every year. Me and my boys take the Ski Bus to Kirkwood at least 2-3 times a year. http://www.nacski.com/
